Let's Get Ahead Of Ourselves Already, & Talk Coordinators

I initially felt good about the DH2 hire, but that faded sharply as it took ever longer for him to name coordinators. I was willing to give Hudson the benefit of the doubt, but I was friggin' aghast when Shoop was named. To wait so long was bad enough, but to have to scrape the bottom of the barrel like that convinced me there were really big problems in the organization. Beyond that, I was really concerned that it took forever to name an OL coach, and I wasn't thrilled with that choice, either.

If I'm not mistaken, the dead period kicks in pretty soon, so whomever is named HC will have to make a mad dash to get in player's faces. But there'd better damned well be a plan to have a team in place quick.

In particular, do you have any ideas for DC? Is there anyone out there with some dramatic turnarounds to their credit?

About as much good as it does to talk Head Coaches, but that doesn't seem to be stopping us. ;)

So, if you had your druthers, who would you like to see for OC + DC? Would you want whichever HC to bring his whole staff?

Hopefully if it's Brohm he is able to bring his OC and DC with him. Staff continuity IMO is very advantageous especially when trying to build something.

So Nick Holt DC.
Levine and his brothers as OC QB coach. etc

Really doubtful unless the HC is Miles that we are going to get well established assistants. Let the new coach bring whoever he is most comfortable with, which will probably be a lot of his current staff.

Brohm would probably bring his own, but a really good DC that I believe is available would be Tim DeRuyter . While he recently got fired by Fresno as a HC, he has a history of making previous teams a lot better on D. Actually if Calhoun would be the choice, DeRuyter was the DC at AFA for awhile.

Nick Holt is a solid bet to follow him. Has FBS experience

Agreed. Pretty legit crew at WKU:

DC/ACH Nick Holt - Previously DC at UW and DC at USC under Pete Carroll during which USC went 34-5.

Co-OC/ST/TE Tony Levine - Former HC at Houston 21-17 record

Co-OC/QB Brian Brohm - Great career at Louisville, 2nd Rd NFL pick.
