Morgan Burke had his season ending press conference today. The only thing that came out of it is that it shows that Burke continues to have no clue about this football program.

He said that the 6.7 million is in no way keeping him from firing Hazell. Really, do you expect us to believe that crap?

He talked about how we were at a disadvantage because we are so young. Really, the talk entering this season was about our experienced offensive line and secondary. Also, we started a Junior QB.

He said that he doesn't like firing coordinators during the season. Sometimes those changes have to be made to help light a fire under the football team. When it aint working it aint working.

And last, he said that he wants to bring in an offensive coordinator that can work with our talent level. Okay, so that means we will bring in a High School coach.

The youth excuse is insulting and so last year. And it has been easily refuted here many times. Really, how many teams have the luxury of having 3-4 year starters all over the field every single year? And you know what, if that's what you are banking on, then you better be stacking some mind blowing recruiting classes. It's obvious Morgan is not speaking to those of us who know enough to peel back the layers on these sound bytes and excuses but the other 90% who don't know any better.

We have been young ever since Tiller left. A full seven years of youngness. MB = BS. BS = empty seats.

I have wondered before what they were teaching at Krannert when he got his MBA, but Burke's arrogance toward and indifference for his customer base are astounding. He literally deserves to fail - and he is!

Burke does not have an MBA from Krannert. He has a MS in Industrial Relations -- basically it's a MS in HR.

The problem is that Hazell's resume, when hired, did not warrant a contract containing a $6.7 million buyout after year three. That is insane. He was a 2-year MAC head coach at Kent State with a 16-10 record. That is a thin resume. Even Charlie Weis is blushing when reading about Hazell's buyout.

That buyout is insane. When you look at other coaches around the conference or the country, that is a buyout for someone AFTER winning a few bowl games. He could have had a buyout for termination and a different buyout for other schools/NFL teams. I did not know that before reading, apparently Morgan did not know that either. Essentially you make the same amount of money if you work here or not. What incentive do you have to win? Idiotic.

I really think Purdue is hurting itself by not getting rid of Hazell. Yeah, its a lot of money but they are just digging themselves in a hole deeper and deeper. It is suppose to be recruiting period. What decent recruit wants to come here and play for Hazell? If they are smart they will know he will not be around much longer. Burke has this program in a total mess.

IDIOTIC is what you get from and IDIOT! He deserved no more than $1m a year with a 2 yr guarantee he was making 300 or 350k/yr so MORGAN gives him the equivalent of over 35 YEARS pay just to sign and no requirement to produce?!? What idiot said yeah that's a great contract?
