Just watching the first quarter I've noticed how bad Purdue is with the ball. I realize Karissa is out, however, no excuse for the turnovers, that was terrible to watch. I'm writing this just as the second quarter is ready to start, hope things change.

Second quarter Sharon's lineup baffled me. Purdue can't rebound, Leyden, Hardin in at the same time leaves the team slow, NW killing them on offensive rebounds and loose balls. Doumbia picked up 2 quick fouls, she looks athletic though, she's going to have to play. My quick take would be a Kyle, Farquarer, Doumbia, Taylor, Moore lineup.

not likely. What I don't understand with SV teams is what little offense they run they seem to not make the entry pass when it is open. End up taking a bad shot late in the clock as a result.

Yep, that as well...Sharon played 10-11 girls, not sure that's a good thing. Leyden will be a good player, Purdue can't have her and Hardin in the lineup at the same time, too slow. Hardin looks like a specialist to me, 3 point shooter in spot minutes, not a bad thing, just not sure she can play defense and rebound in a tough big ten.

Purdue has 20 turnovers in just 3 quarters. Impressive!
Lost 70-54, passing and offensive rebounds gave up were terrible. Team didn't look very good, first time I've watched them play. I'd be interested to see the turnover numbers, Taylor had at least 6-7, for a third year player that's inexcusable, also, Moore didn't score, NW's athletic guards took her completely out of the game.

They look like a rec league team. Poor defense, offense, ball handling, passing, no enthusiasm. Year after year same issues under the current coach. Sharon Versyp is the only common denominator. She needs to go.

Said it at the beginning and saying it again. Least talented Versyp team. Although they have some skilled players, their is no rhythm. They just throw the ball around and hope for an open shot. Playing Layton and Hardin ( who is only a fair spot up 3 shooter) slowed the team to a walk., Layton is a great passer and defender but can't get open. The rest of it is just alley ball and that resulted in nearly 30 turnovers and so many easy baskets for NW that this game was over in the first quarter. The Wildcats may be conference champs but they totally dominated this Purdue team in ways they seldom have over the years. Our program is truly broken and needs new leadership. No idea how much this will be tolerated, but this has the makings of an awful season.
The new player Dombia is truly skilled but played out of control. Nobody else showed much. Very hard to watch.
We may beat some hapless teams in the league like Illinois, but don't think we will win or be very competitive in many. Too early to be for sure. But this performance tonight indicated a lot of bad.
P.S. Maybe Brohm should give Aaron Burton a shot at QB. His sister torched us tonight.

Hardin 3 of 14 (1 of 6 behind the arc). Kyle, Farquhar, Moore and KT all had bad nights - Farquhar’s first bad game. Not much good to be said. But to be fair, with Burton playing that well and the talent level of her teammates, I am not sure any B1G team could have beaten them in that game. Certainly not when by TOs you are giving them the ball 13 extra times.

Yes after struggling some the Nw coach has built a solid program. Good talent, they know what they are doing, and they execute. We were overmatched on every level. We need a Coach who can produce that.

I just get a headache watching them play. So disorganized and unsound fundamentally that I would think a good intramural team could beat them.

The getting the rebound quick pass only to be stolen is grade school stuff. The new girl Doumbia is athletic, she made a few mistakes/first game jitters hopfully, she needs to play major minutes. I do think Leyden is going to be good, Hardin looks to me like a 5-10 minute max a night player, too slow against talented teams. Taylor-Karissa-Doumbia-Farquarer-Kyle need to be the lineup when Mac returns. Moore as 6th man/instant offense can sub in, after that Leyden, Diagne should round out rotation.
