our team played 11 games together against international competition, which gave us such a big head start on the entire country. We also have 4 outstanding seniors who are the defending B1G champs. I think this is our best team in ages. Last summer I talked about how I was impressed with Haarms ability to shoot from the outside and how he could run the court. I was buried in responses of how he wouldn't amount to much, at least not this year. Haarms is such a huge addition. This team is the real deal. We need to take them one at a time, but I like our chances. This team is destined to reach new heights...win where we haven't won before, and hopefully reach the Final Four and win there too.

To be fair Haarms did not play in the WUG. Most of us had no idea just how good he was. To be honest I thought we looked pretty good without him. Now we look like national contenders.

Mathias was just on the big ten network and noted the WUG games. He also was asked whether Purdue or MSU are the team to beat and he said Purdue. Said they felt disrespected and are returning big ten champs
