2nd leading scorer last year. Groce is up against it this year. He needs to make the tourney to keep his gig.

Who would even wanna play for Illinois right now?? programs a joke, kids always getting in trouble but it seems like I see a bunch of high school recruits always list Illinois in their final school list...why lol?
Have fun with that dumpster fire Jalen Colman.

On the (teeny tiny) bright side, from what I've read I think Illinois handled this about right. Let the criminal justice system lead the way and respond accordingly. I am certainly against domestic violence, but more and more players are being punished prior to any sort of criminal conviction or even charges in some cases.

I think the NCAA as a whole takes a more balanced, less knee-jerk approach to these situations than the pros do. Maybe it is the lack of media circus. Maybe it is the lesson learned from Duke lacrosse, etc.. In this case once the plea was done Nunn had to go.

I mean, newly renovated arena with a new AD at a Big Ten school that has an engaged and large fan base ... they could be looking at potential. Didn't the Baby Boilers commit when PU wasn't too hot?

Anyway, a lot of those kids are from Illinois. Maybe not to the extent of a smaller state like Indiana, but UI is still this state's flagship school, and there's definitely pressure for instate recruits to have the Illini in consideration (even if they end up going elsewhere).
