Keion Brooks Jr.

I believe we already offered. Not sure how seriously we are considered, though. He is thought as one of the top, if not THE top, recruit in Indiana. Not quite the kind of recruits we've had success in the past, but one can dream!

I think we were the first P5 school to offer, and he is blowing up right now.
Scout and 247 has him as a 5 star, top 20 player in the class of 2019

Again, Painter proves he can spot talent early, now we just need to close him

An extended stay in the business end of the rankings and a deep run in March, between now and the end of the PJ/VE/DM/IH class, should be a huge asset for Painter to be a closer recruiting wise

I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up at La Lumiere for his senior year. Next year North may have a legitimate shot with additions of Austin Boucher and possible Sydney Curry to win it all. I also would be very surprised if doesn't end up at MSU.

OB52 you are correct he has always been a player even when he dominated at St. Paul. What makes him special is that he is coachable and loves to work hard. I hope he has a change of heart or direction but Sr. Will make his final decision.

There is a ton of talent up and coming here in Fort Wayne. Hopefully our coaches are getting plugged in. We have a good chance here - really for both football and bball - with both of the reversible jacket programs sputtering

I have seen Biggie tweet at him. If Biggie truly loves Purdue, he should be selling it to this kid. Purdue is very good when they get top 150 players, by a sprinkling in of the right top 50 players is what it would take to make that next step and consistently go on deep tourney runs.

Is A.C. Eldridge still active in FW basketball?

He has always been an impressive player. Would love for Painter to get Keion. Just wasn't sure if the interest Purdue is showing him is mutual? Looks like another that will be Painter vs. Izzo.

What St Paul did he go to? St Paul Lutheran Bears? Ricky Hall's alma mater?

Sure be nice to finally turn tables on Izzo, when it comes to us and them.
They have beat us to the punch far to many times. If PU could win those players a few years in a row, Along with a deep run
in the Big Dance this year and next year too and start drawing some great attention to PU.

So who are our assistants that make it a priority to get out and be at games? Recruiting should be a priority for every coach. Spread out the recruiting priorities and get a Purdue coach at these recruit's games every so often. I haven't read about Purdue doing this.....perhaps they do??

St. Paul Lutheran, they won the Lutheran National Championship tournament and he was 6'6" playing the point many times. Sydney Curry is the one I think our chances are very high! Seems his Luers situation may have settled and if he can keep his head in the right place.

There are exceptions, but it's the endlessly challenging quandary: You can't win without talent, and you can't attract talent without winning. That's why these two MSU wins--these two MSU thrashings--have been so important.

The ultimate tiebreaker between competing programs is what happens on the court. We've beaten the crap out of Sparty this year. Bridges and Biggie will go pro, and though their recruits for next year are strong, ours aren't chopped liver, and our returnees are vastly superior. A two-year on-court proof of superiority gives us a great chance to become what MSU has been--the preeminent Midwestern blue collar/high talent basketball program.

The tide is turning, folks. We're not there yet, but the signs are all there. You can see the beginning signs of desperation in Izzo's behavior this year. Yes, we had some special circumstances in signing Biggie, but Izzo also had to shed tears to snag JJJ.

Weeping only goes so far. Winning is far more impressive.

Not saying it hasn't happened, but I haven't seen Purdue at Brooks games. I have seen Izzo. Wayne HS here in FW also has a 6'5 sophomore that's suppose to be pretty good. Haven't seen him, but hear he's worth watching.

Thanks, they went something like 44-0 that year. No idea that Brooks was on the team. Very cool.

No - I have it on good authority that to save money they don't go to many games. Rather, they read the expert opinions on this board to formulate their recruiting strategy.

great post... LMAO on a slow holiday... :)

Doesn't Brooks have an offer from Izzo already? If it's his "dream school" then why not pull the trigger?
