Kansas goes down

This was an entertaining game - both teams look to be tough outs come March. And wow, did they let some contact go.....and then called some nickel/dimers.....where have we seen that before? 49 total fouls, 67 combined FT's - Jalen Wilson with 38 for Kansas, but Adams, McCullar, and Dick fouled out.

Also - Jayhawks' 15-game streak of single-digit game wins is snapped. Some really good teams in the Big XII (minus II).

Kansas State final drive absolutely should have been a foul. Then they called a bunch of touch fouls in overtime.

It was just like the Kansas-OU game a few days ago, only KU couldn't pull this one off. So many free throws. It seemed like the refs had to make up a weak foul call on one team with one on the other. Again and again.

And Jalen Wilson clearly wanted to tell everyone the POY voting isn't over yet.

Made my KSU grad wife extremely happy. KSU doesn't play defense, or shoot 3s particularly well, but they play all out all the time. I'm not sure how that will play out in the tournament playing multiple games in a weekend, but I'm glad they're back.

K-State could be the real deal. The Big XII is crazy deep. It would really help Purdue if West Virginia would get going. Their computer numbers are still good, but 0-5 in the B12 is not encouraging.

Crazy deep is right. I'm almost not worried about West Virginia simply because the schedule they play will keep their NET strong all year. They're still 30 entering today. 50 is still Q1.

How is Houston #1. Look at their schedule. Virginia is their best win then Oregon maybe?

Part of it is where they started and the team's overall perception. The overall record will be strong because they are head-and-shoulders above their conference foes. They may not lose (or just drop a game) for the rest of the season. Even if they finish #1 in the polls doesn't necessarily mean they would be the overall top seed in the NCAA tournament.

Purdue is in a good spot right now - Boilers just have to keep playing one game at a time and grind out the Big Ten like everyone else in the conference, Big XII, and SEC. I would, however, consider it a favor if they could ease up just a tad on the cardiac finishes. @ Minnesota, v. Maryland, @ Michigan up next.

They started out high and have only lost 1 game, which was to a highly ranked Alabama.

Houston is good and well coached. There isn't anyone in there conference to challenge them this year. I can't see them losing more than a couple of more games before the tourney.

i’m holding out hope that Memphis can steal a game from them.

That was a crap deal for KSU when they stopped their fast break because the KU kid pretended to have a cramp. He never left the game which was even further crap. Or at least all of us watching it didn't think he left. Either way he never showed any signs of a cramp when he paraded to the FT line the rest of the night!!

I don't doubt something may have happened to him. Cramps happen and they sometimes ease up quickly. But they absolutely should not have stopped the play.

Yes, Dry. Fran Fraschilla was all over that while it was happening - definitely an officiating blunder there. Ironically, what may have cost Kansas the game was Self's time-out.....now he was starting to call it before the play developed.....but Wilson ended up with the ball out top and nailed a three. Would have put Kansas up four with about 40 seconds left.

Thanks Tex, was in a sports bar and couldn't hear the announcers.

And just like that WVU takes down a ranked TCU team.

Kansas was dancing on the cliff's edge for quite a bit by being down a lot and coming back to win a close one at the end. This time they didn't do it. You can only go to the well so many times before it comes up dry.
