Wants bigger role with team...more playing time. Rated as a 30 something recruit in his class he thought he would get max PT...but did not. Anyway AZ also has a big recruiting class coming in next year. I would imaging he goes to one of the over 20 places that offered him the first time....Purdue was not in that list.

I was looking at that as well. Was he plagued with injuries in his frosh season or was he just not performing well enough yet for significant PT? Anyway, his transfer WOULD give away a scholarship 'cuz he would have to sit out a season.

If he's a better offensive player than a defensive player, that's a good trade. Not sure Painter believes that though.

Yes. Anyone watching understands that you can't win without good D. IU was destined for a horrible season before they decided to start playing defense. In their last game, they scored 86 points. But they lost because they couldn't stop UNC.

Jon Rothstein just put out 11 schools he's considering. We aren't among them. IU is the only Big Ten school on the list.

Painter recruits more for offensive talent than defensive talent, with Smotherman, Taylor, and Weatherford being exceptions. V Edwards. Mathias, Cline, Stephens, Thompson, and even Davis were not recruited for their defense.
