Can people stop saying "Purdue doesn't have elite talent like OSU or Michigan" , whenever the talk is about the players. Are you putting a plug in for how great you think OSU and Mich is or just repeating what others say? Ok I feel better now, carry on.

Purdue is lacking in talent. Severely

Would you feel better about Alabama and USC?
ha ha good one, I guess when people say Purdue isn't OSU , Mich, or Whoever, they think Purdue never gets any good players and evidently never beats OSU or Mich, Purdue does get a lot of good players, and has had good teams, just not into the loser attitudes of some people, not how I roll .

I don't have a loser attitude but when u compare overall recruiting, O$U & Michigan pull down close to or over 20 4/5-star athletes per year. Now stars don't mean everything, however, Karlaftis is our first 4-star commit since Robinson in what? 2014? That doesn't mean that we can't win, but it is an indication that we have not brought in as talented recruits and the results over the past few years speak to that. I think we have a coach that is going to change some of that and I think the future is bright for us.

Yup. You have to field 11 players out there. We celebrate getting a single 4 star but when we line up against OSU,UM, PSU, we're basically playing against nothing but 4 and 5 stars with a smathering of 3 stars. And that's not just the starters. Their backups are just next in line.

Purdue has beaten OSU four times this century and Michigan three times.I doubt if Purdue had more four star players than they did in any of those wins,so once in awhile it can be done..

It's a fact that Purdue doesn't have the high end talent or the depth of players at OSU and Michigan.

Forget the stars - look at draft picks.

I don't get your point.

My point is , when "Some" people talk about the Purdue team, they will say well we aren't Mich or OSU, and I am thinking well hell why ever play either of those schools if they are so great every season, Purdue has had good teams, not as many as OSU and Mich , and Purdue gets some really good players, so it bugs me when Purdue fans act like Purdue is never any good and never will be. No reason Purdue can't have good teams

Agree that we have had many good teams and can again with the right recruiting and coaching. Tiller had a great run and maybe some on here remember better than me but I don't think he ever cracked the top 20 in recruiting did he? We had some great teams though. Stars aren't everything. Like I said, I think the future is bright for us.

It does take time to rebuild and get better recruits and results. I too was hoping the first few games were not an enigma. I now think we'll have to grind the rest of the way this season to see if we can achieve 4-5 wins.

I don't think acknowledging that those programs operate on a different level is conceding anything to them. We can still beat them on the field if we put together decent teams ourselves. Hell, as bad as we've been lately, we've still beaten Ohio State 3 of our last 8 games. That doesn't mean they don't have a serious advantage when it comes to recruiting though.

I agree they have a recruiting advantage, but the right coach can narrow that gap alot

Some of those early classes were top 25 ish. Recruiting rankings weren’t the same then

Well Thanks to Hazy we are not either one of them . But I believe our advantage over both of them will be our coaching staff. Keep em together, keep recruiting who they value for the new Purdue scheme so we can get productive and yes, more talented student athletes that allows you to get deeper and compete at a higher level week in and week out. Lot of 3 * kids I'll take that are tough, great character and willing to learn and develop. This staff will develop players like Tillers staff did. We will be back and it will be sooner then later

LMAO...football is 11 on 11? I appreciate the reminder.
I didn’t see a celebration for landing a single Four Star kid. The celebration was for CJB & Staff landing a player of that caliber in year one of the rebuild. George Karlaftis is only a junior in HS. By this time next year, he’ll be widely considered a 5 Star Recruit/Purdue Signee. The coaching staff will be working tirelessly to ensure Yanni Karlaftis (and the rest of his class) has every reason to become a Boilermaker joining his big brother.
Lastly, the “smathering of 3 Star” players represents the majority of college football recruits. Typically these young men simply have not developed physically like the 5 Star kids. Their growth & development occurs later when on campus, each growing into Elite 3rd & 4th year players for their school.

We ground out another win. That always helps recruitment regardless. Can we get 2 wins in next three games? Tall task, I think the Bucket could be coming back to Purdue, but it will be a back and forth slugfest going at each other.

Did I imagine things, or was Worship in as a kick off return specialist? He is a very good 260 lb punishing runner, but if he was indeed returning kicks I would have to say that shows a major lack of speedy, allusive guys with good hands.
