Josh Jackson to Kansas

With MSU missing on Jackson and Stone leaving Maryland, the dominoes are starting to fall. Lots of need for big men in the B1G now.

With Niego leaving IU, they only have Newkirk (RS) at PG.

Wow! Lots of heart broken Spartans today. Maybe the MSU PC patrols will be a bit over zealous today with this loss. Every post I read from them was that Josh Jackson would be the crowning achievement of their best-ever class, and they would dominate the BIG from here on out. LOL

They have an excellent class with a 5* forward, a 5* guard, and a couple 4* guys. They will be just fine. It is just that they were so confident of getting the home town boy Jackson. It goes to show that everybody trips in this recruiting game. Predicting where a 17-year old kid will go is like betting on insect races.

Saw that this morning; I think I read where it's the 7th Top-10 recruit for Kansas since 2009. Self definitely knows how to continue successful recruiting. Even so, it's not easy to get a top recruit to leave the State of Michigan.

Yes it is nice when you have a coach that knows what they are doing and then consistently get it done. Both Self and Izzo mentioned in this thread get it done.

They'll be going hard for Jaren Jackson and Malik Williams.

Yeah....from all I've heard, Michigan State should be among the final choices for Williams. I would think Purdue has a chance to be among them too, but it will be a very good accomplishment for CMP to get him to commit.

We shall see.

I hear the same for Williams. Jackson doesn't seem to have finalists at this point, so he's vulnerable - for both PU and MSU.

Robert Johnson has and can continue to play the 1 for them.

The usual suspects (Duke, Kentucky, Kansas) look loaded for next season. Yay for them.

We talk a lot about Indiana being loaded in 2017, but the word on the street is that 2016 was loaded nationally. From the looks of things, it was. Creighton got two 4-stars. Based on some of the NBA draft rumors for this year, there may be a LOT of one-&-dones next year. Life in the fast lane ....
It would be tough to be a good high 3-star these days and know what to expect the guys in front of you to do at various schools. You make a choice based on playing time coming free when a guy goes one-&-done, then he doesn't go ....

I just did a superficial scan ... 1.Kentucky, 2. Duke (moves up if they get Boldin), 3. MSU, 4. UCLA (with Alford on the hot seat), 5. UConn, 6. Mississippi St. (with SIX 4-stars), 7. Ariz., 8. VA, 9. Miami, 10. FSU, 11. NC, 12. Gonzaga, 13. Kansas, 14, Oregon, 15. Marquette.

Just for reference, eleven schools got at least one 5-star. KY got 5, Duke 3, Arizona 3, MSU 2, UCLA 2, Miami 1, FSU 1, Kansas 1, Auburn 1, Villanova 1, Washington 1.

Josh Jackson is from Michigan?

He can play the 1 but he can't play it nearly as well as Yogi did last year. There will be drop off there. Their front court should be improved though.
