Scenario 1: Our team comes out flat because of the rumor distractions, we lose our last 2 games and then Brohm announces he is leaving for Louisville. Is he the most hated man in Purdue sports history?

Scenario 2: We win out and Brohm announces he’s staying. Do panties drop all over campus and men weep and proclaim their ever lasting bro-lust for Coach Brohm?

I don't think anyone will hate Brohm should he bolt. I dont see it happening though regardless.
The bolting is not the issue...I for one couldn’t blame him. However if we tank this season and lose to IU...a season with so much promise...I feel like all bets are off.

Why would we hate Brohm for going to the school he and his family attended and played at. You should be happy he pulled Purdue out of the mud that Hazell had us in instead. I don't think he's leaving but if he does then he left Purdue much better than it was when he arrived.

Lol the season that started 0-3? This team this year has won a couple most thought it wouldn't and lost a couple most thought it wouldn't. A lot of people didn't even think this was a 6-6 team again with all the losses on defense from last season.

This can’t be serious.

I can't see how any true fan would hate Brohm, even if he left. I can understand hating someone like Hazell, but not Brohm. He has given us two special years, and hopefully many more to come!!!

I think that is a distinct possibility knowing human nature. I wonder if Jeff has considered how this might affect him in the future if he does leave. He has assured recruits that he would always be truthful with them and they have come to trust his word. If he leaves, that recruiting line will never be trusted again no matter where he goes. If it's all about what his children want, I can speak to that. From the time I was born all the way through high school years my father's job caused us to move six times and I hated it. I even thought about running away from home but each time, in each new home, I made new friends and again never wanted to ever move again. But we did and I adjusted again. Perhaps that's true with coaches' children also. I wonder how many close friends his children really have in the Louisville area since his coaching has taken the family elsewhere for a few years. Besides, it's not like Louisville is in a foreign country.

I won't hate him either way. But if he leaves and our recruiting class is destroyed and he poaches players on the team, then ill definitely think he's a 2 face and will absolutely be rooting against him at loserville.

Purdue will be in Hazell shape if he goes. Recruiting class will be devastated and there WILL be transfers. Football won't be decent again for 3-4 years at a minimum.
Exactly, our program will most definitely not be in a better place if he leaves. Recruiting class will probably be completely destroyed. Will need another miracle homerun hire to be a decent team again.

Why would you hate him if he were to leave? This is his alma mater and his home so it's not like he's just ditching you guys. He brought you all out of the basement and if he does leave, a good hire could very well carry on his success and keep you all winning. I understand a little bit of frustration, but one of the most hated men? Come on... I know most boiler fans wouldn't feel this animosity towards him so I think you're in the strong minority. Don't hate the past, get excited for the future. You all have a bright future, you're in good hands with the new administration.

Why would anyone hate Hazell? He was a shitty coach and recruiter but by any measure he is a good man. He didn’t do anything to deliberately undermine Purdue football.

If Brohm leaves he is 100% taking his top 30 recruiting class with him. Karlaftis will be gone. There’s a good likelihood that Rondale Moore will follow him. All of these shiny new recruits will either follow him or go somewhere else and Purdue football will be in a bigger hole than it’s ever been.

It's a different circumstance from then. You all have beautiful new upgrades and an administration that won't neglect sports. You all will be back, this isn't the Purdue of 5 years ago. This is a new era.

I wonder if Brohm has been saving Sindelar, so as to prevent further injury or aggravation of existing one, knowing he will be a transfer candidate?

I sure hope Mitch and Mbob have retained a team of competent lawyers versed in tampering infractions related to new transfer rules?

I find it hard to believe that he leaves now that he's been "outed" by the national media.

The sky is falling...I'd just quit being a Purdue fan then if I were you.

You do realize Brohm used up ALOT of personal capital to get Moore to come to Purdue, right? Moore took a HUGE risk coming to Purdue. And Brohm has told several recruits he'll be there. If he leaves, he'll most likely be more hated by Moore and will lose credibility with recruit's like Milton. And based on what I've seen, he's isn't that kind of person. You think Moore's gonna burn a year of eligibility and wait another year before he gets his payday in the NFL? I don't think so...

He literally did nothing. Didnt recruit. Didnt win. He is the worst coach in school history.
And he was fired for that. No scandals, no personal outbursts, no parting shots. He was a good guy who was in over his head. I don’t hate him.

The main emotion, that usually comes to mind when I think of DH, is jealousy. He left with $12M that he really never earned.

You could say the same for Brohm, so why would you bring hate into the discussion?
