Like what I'm hearing about this guy.

Give me 11 guys on defense who love to initiate contact and 11 (ok maybe 10) on offense who aren't afraid of it.

he was supposed to be one of our best recruits, and he is living up to his hype! hopefully, some of our other recruits can match his intensity!

We have really had a hard hitting great tackler since Pollard at Safety. Maybe he can be the next one.

I've seen him in practice and the dude can hit for sure.

Yes....they are using him at d-tackle now in certain situations (he's bulked up to 283 at only 6'1") and none of our o-lineman can really stop him.
That may say something about our o-line too!

Wasn't there an undersize/quick DT on Wisconsin a couple years ago that absolutely gave us fits? I kind of like the idea of putting Robinson in that role.

You talking about Mitch King from Iowa?

No it was definitely Wisconsin. Maybe he was an end? Little guy. Probably smaller than Gelen. He gave our guys fits. Anyway, will be interested to see him in this new role.

Alex Lewis? He killed Purdue a couple of years....think he bounced from DE to LB in their scheme

That's probably the guy I was thinking of. Wiki says he set a record for sacks with 6.5 against us in 2003. Ouch! That would explain the impression it left on my memory. But, yeah, he was an undersize DE edge rusher, so not a great comp here.

Mitch King is the best undersized DT i have seen in the last 20 years. Played college in the 260s and was an all american.

warren Sapp was 6'1 on a good day, if you have talent you can do it. Was hoping for Keiwan Jones to put on some bulk by now but seems to be stuck in the 260's

He probably got drafted solely on that 2003 contest ;)

I believe Robinson could become a good DT this year. I hate the fact of having to move him from his starting position of three years his senior year and having him totally alter his approach to the game. he could have been a great DE this year as well. At 285, he's still going to be a little undersized to play DT in the BIG 10, and he's going to have to learn fast how to play the position. unfortunately, somebody had to fill that hole.
