Here is my math:
After the signing day, Purdue signed 22 players which leaves them 6 over the limit. With the two recent players leaving, Purdue now stands at 4 over the limit. However, places have Jacob Theineman as counting towards the scholarship grid. This is where Purdue could save a scholarship in that because he came in to the program as a walk-on, he understands he may not have a scholarship come the fall....HOWEVER, they could guarantee him a graduate assistant position following his playing time as a 'make up' for removing him from scholarship. That would leave Purdue at just three over the limit and I would venture between now and the end of spring camp, at least 6 more players end up transferring out. That would give Purdue the 'wiggle room' that Brohm has stated they currently have.
