Will he be ready to play at all this season? If so...any idea when?

I remember reading a post here saying that he is basically gone for this season. Even if not, why make him play? I want him to be 100% healthy next season, and not play another minute so he may go for the sixth year. The sixth year thing is not guaranteed, but we are not so short on personnel that we have to waste the possibility.

Assuming Biggie goes pro, JT has a chance to get a lot of time at the 4/5 next year.
Love his enthusiasm during games, He and Haarms are 14 feet of jumping enthusiasm in street clothes at the end of the bench.

The Lafayette Journal and Courier ran a story on him within the last couple of weeks saying that he would not play this year.

Love the optimism but I'm not sure how realistic it is to expect to lose the likely BT player of the year and possible National POY and think that we'll be better next year. If IH and the Edwards brothers (tic) continue to improve and we get some contributions from the additions, next year's team could be a conference title contender, but this year is MP's best shot at a tourney run in the immediate future.

Points and rebounds are the only thing CS brings? Not watching....

This. But it sounds like Painter wants him ready for the World University Games this summer.
