Jacquil Taylor Fully Cleared To Play w/ No Restrictions

You haven't been this happy since Chris Reid was on the team have you?
I think k a lot of us are pulling for Taylor, but he has a lot of rust and not sure of his mental approach as a result of the injuries

Needs to concentrate on his defense and rebounding. If he can provide help with those he will find the floor. I think in a perfect world he can eat up most of the minutes Haas is off the floor. I think he can potentially be as good a rebounder as Haas and a better defender.

Looking forward to watching this guy play. The few times he has been on the floor he has shown flashes of brilliance. With the problems he has had I'm am hopeful that he can hold it together and be a regular contributor. Go Jacquil!

I would expect him to be a better rebounder and and handle the 1-5 ball screen better...both due to being quicker. However, I think the O goes to Haas, but we shall see

I am glad Jacquil is better now, but I think the expectation is just too high. We only need him to play a solid backup to Haas, and take the center job as the healthy, decent starter next year. That is all we need from him. Anything else is just a bonus.

Additionally, I myself haven't given up on Tilmon. :)

I think I hear Chevy's tears of joy overflowing from my classroom on my lunch break!

I'm all for that.....Jacquil "Chevy" Taylor. Can't you imagine Cliz:

"Nojel on the wing.....over to C Boogie.......dribble drive......stop......dish to Chevy on the wing....eyes it......"BULLSEYE!"

But.. but... but ..... this info came from hammer and rails! A source several of you have dissed for the last 5 years! I guess it's ok when they publish good and happy thoughts?

Personally, I'm not sure how to judge Taylor. Many have said he could have been a 4 star or maybe 5 star recruit out of high school if not for his injury that wiped out his senior year! We have seen flashes of his talent at Purdue, coupled with additional injuries! I'm not sure if he is a dominating inside force, a defensive menace, a rebounding machine, or a big perimeter oriented player. I'm also not sure if mentally he'll give 110%, or if his previous injuries will effect the way he plays the game!

This is another reason I am glad Purdue will be participating in the World games. I have to believe in representing the USA, Painter will coach the team to win rather than use it just to evaluate our team's talent. And it will have a tourney atmosphere! The best talent will rise to the top! The exposure will surely benefit players like Taylor! Maybe Taylor is our real McCoy !

does anyone know if Taylor is pain free in his foot? Cleared to play doesn't always mean pain free. That makes a big difference
