Jacob Thieneman

Huge loss. He is really solid in run support. Next man up we do not currently have at that position. I wonder how creative Holt gets with the defense this week. 8 man front?

That sucks - he has been a major piece to our overall defense.

Any ideas if we are going to let some of these freshman get a chance to step in? I know Trice is a CB but thought based on size he might be able to step into a similar role.

Coach talk is flavor of the day but this is a big hit for the defense. He has been really good going from walk on to where he is now. Thanks for your time here Jacob

Neal, Bailey, and J. Thieneman are the 3 irreplaceable guys on a thin defense this year.

What Jacob might lack in talent, he more than made up for with toughness, grit, and leadership. Hopefully the team can get to a bowl and he can play one more game. It has been fun watching #41 play.

Good luck to Jacob T for a safe and quick recovery. He has achieved quite a bit from walk-on to great player at SS. I saw his brother the last couple weeks get burned while in, but receivers dropped balls.

Smiley likely gets first crack after the younger Thieneman looked like he struggled quite a bit.

Brennan was listed as the starter in this weeks 2 deeps. If it was someone else, I would go with trice

Smiley is a better fit in Mosley’s role
