Jack Smith

I thought that we should not of withdrawn offer made earlier to JC LB Evander Craft from COD who had size and maturity to contribute next fall. However, I would guess the reasoning was Smith has greater upside and bigger frame. Its apparent this staff does not want to fill roster deficiencies with JC players any longer and wants to build going forward thru focus on solid HS recruiting. .... the team will develop a stronger culture as a result and leaves me to think Brohm intends to remain here for the long term, which is a positive

Injury issue with craft

Like this signing. Good size for OLB and looks decently quick. Needs to bulk up but he'll contribute in his time here I believe.

Looking at his numerical rating on 24/7, he would be our 8th best commitment at the same level as ILB Alexander and OT Bramel and just ahead of Trice. that's a pretty good catch for getting a very late start recruiting him.

He's got a Hall of Fame name ... forgive me as I flash back to Jackie Smith, 6-foot-4 Hall of Fame tight end for the St. Louis Football Cardinals from 1963-1977 ... 210 games with 480 receptions for 7,918 yards and five Pro Bowls.

Too bad he'll mostly be remembered for the dropped TD pass that quite possibly cost Dallas a Super Bowl victory against the Steelers.
