Izzo

Izzo's face is made of silly putty - sickening to watch. He has become the coach I can hardly watch because of the faces he makes .

Pick your favorite, Beth.

He was so far out on the court in one possession I feel like he was trapping C. Edwards in the corner! Lol
Posted this elsewhere too, but I'm still waiting for the gutsy coach with a hockey-style enforcer on the team who's instructed to run the sideline and take out that little whiner when he's out on the floor and the ball's in play. That would be worth the price of admission. Then would love to be in the officials' huddle as they try to decide how to call a foul on the opposing player!

I think it is funny that we have not seen that Michigan State fan that posts on this board from time to time. He has a coachmance with Izzo, and Izzo being basically being the second coming. I figured he would wait a few days before he decides to post on here again.

Said the same thing. Someone just run him right over.

At least now we know where that doofus Crean gets it from.

I think most of us are on a temporary high right now. We need to come back down to earth and hope for a Boilermakers victory at Nebraska on Saturday.

This.

Nothing is going to be easy this year as we've already shown twice in losses that few people saw coming. Winning tonight isn't going to keep Glynn Watson in check on Sunday and won't keep us from turning the ball over 18 times in Lincoln. Listening to the postgame interviews, it seems the players are well aware of that as a few of the players were already mentioning how they need to follow this up with another win. Isaac was already talking about the importance of the next game and he didn't even know where it was we were playing next. Encouraging to hear. Let's hope they go out and prove it.

Izzo is an inflamed pimple on the buttocks of my life. Show some class and say you got your ass handed to you on your home court, in front of your "Izzone." He ranks right up there with Fran from Iowa, and Mike from puke/duke.

Don't think he had much to complain about. They got away with mugging Haas every other play just like most teams do. Well called game imo. The split screen and then a compete shot of that tool while Purdue was running offense, omg. I lost it for a bit. Shame on ESPN.

why do refs even engage him and those kind of antics/pleading?

if I reffed (sp?) his games, i would just ignore him and not even make eye contact.
in football, they seem to ignore coaches and just face the field of play far more than bball (not exactly the same but still)

I saw a ref last night speak back to Izzo and respond to him...I don't have an issue with that at all when the ref appears to give feedback on why he is calling a game like he is. When I coached a game, I always made a point to ask the ref what they saw and why they called it that way. Usually I ended up being able to sway a ref a bit by asking him his point of view and then providing a response on my view. The ref doesn't want to berated and challenged in most instances and I think that is where CMP directs his criticism. Has anyone ever noticed that the guys who berate the refs and yell and scream are also usually the ones who are called out for yelling and berating their own players?

Announcers were right at one point that Izzo should have been called for a technical in the first half when our player had the ball on the wing and Izzo was essentially on the floor with his hand up as if he was defending the player.

Missed this. Does anyone have a screen shot of it?

Late in the first half they delayed the game as a ref talked to Izzo near the end of his bench. I wondered why Painter didn't go down there or at least protest the delay. Most times when a game is delayed (I admit it was a small delay) both coaches have the right to be in discussion. I admit Painter was off screen and could have been yelling his head off.

i propose a new name for the msu student section. I don't feel the current name accurately reflect the attitude of its coach. I suggest "The Whinery".
