I speak for everyone. StfuJust curious. Did he even consider the Purdue job? Purdue’s in the BIG10. Was it an attractive enough job to attract an elite, name coach like Bellichek?
My speculation is no. Purdue is not an attractive job for elite, name coaches. And guys like Bellicek didn’t even consider it as a plausible possibility.
Purdue should feel fortunate for who they were able to attract to take the job.

What makes you think Purdue was interested? Bobinski just had one seriously risky hire blow up in his face.Just curious. Did he even consider the Purdue job? Purdue’s in the BIG10. Was it an attractive enough job to attract an elite, name coach like Bellichek?

I guess spending time with his girlfriend might help him relate to that age kid now. What makes you think Purdue was interested? Bobinski just had one seriously risky hire blow up in his face.
His first thought probably wasn't: "Hey, let's go with a 72-year-old who has never coached college football at any level in any capacity. What we really need here is a guy who has never recruited, never dealt with academics or NIL, never worked alumni or boosters. Yeah, that's definitely the ticket."
Yep, I predict he flops at UNC. The world of NIL and portal and recruiting is alien to him. Also, a 72-yr-old with a five-year contract??? I'm 76 and can tell you from personal experience that 72 is about the time that Old Fart Disease starts creeping up on you. What makes you think Purdue was interested? It might work out great for UNC. If so, great for them. They rolled the dice in a huge way.Yep, I predict he flops at UNC. The world of NIL and portal and recruiting is alien to him. I’d be surprised if he has that much of a fire in the belly anymore. His assistant coaches will have to do all the work and old Bill will take the credit if successful. It might work out great for UNC. If so, great for them. They rolled the dice in a huge way.
I still think it's way too risky for Purdue coming off a collasal high-risk flop.
Maybe not in the belly but below his belly he's still got something smoking.I’d be surprised if he has that much of a fire in the belly anymore.

I made a point 2 weeks ago and you laughed at me. Now I’m telling you I told you so and you hate me for doing so!I speak for everyone. Stfu
If Belichick is what you consider an elite college coach, I am really freaking glad you have no say in the hiring of coaches.I made a point 2 weeks ago and you laughed at me. Now I’m telling you I told you so and you hate me for doing so!
Purdue is not an attractive job for elite name coaches. It never was and never will be!
You can name all the hot coaches you want. But none of them even remotely considered the Purdue job. Period! We get the also rams looking to improve their current paycheck.
Is Odom an improvement over Walters? Yes. Was he one of the big name elite coaches potentially looking for a job to rebuild Purdue? No!
Did BOBO provide a list of other coaches he interviewed or inquired about the position? No.
Some of you just don’t like to hear differing viewpoints even if they are the truth! Do you!
Yeah, I agree. This is going to be a spectacular disaster. The only time Belichick has really been successful is when he had Tom Brady at QB and I don't think he has any eligibility left.
What do you mean by "elite coach?" Are we supposed to pay Kirby Smart $20 million a year and pluck him away from UGA? Get the coaches who failed at Michigan or Florida and hope they can work the transfer portal without any current players or coaches? Get a 72-year old curmudgeon who has never coached even one quarter of college football? Odom had his team at UNLV in the Top 25. Short of fantasyland stuff, he's probably the best hire we could have made.I made a point 2 weeks ago and you laughed at me. Now I’m telling you I told you so and you hate me for doing so!

I did not laugh at you about any coaches pick, since it appears that you took one of my replies to this thread. You have the wrong subject. My laughter was that you said that Ohio State would for sure without a benefit of a doubt would be playing IU, which of course did not happen.I made a point 2 weeks ago and you laughed at me. I'm going to say that I believe he's going to do very well with his plan to run UNC like a minor league pro team. I think he does what he's getting paid to do.Yep, I predict he flops at UNC. It happens. Worked with a guy who at the age of 62 along with his 26-year-old wife had twin boys. He loved being a dad at that age.'It's weird right? Belcheck coachng college at 72 years old the 24 year old gf, like all of it. It's entertaing for sure, but WTF is Bill doing?
Can you imagine teaching them to drive a car when you’re in your 80s???It happens. Worked with a guy who at the age of 62 along with his 26-year-old wife had twin boys. He loved being a dad at that age.
What self respecting and successful hiring manager would EVER do this?Did BOBO provide a list of other coaches he interviewed or inquired about the position?
Please. All it is is Free Agency. He’ll do fine…Yep, I predict he flops at UNC. The world of NIL and portal and recruiting is alien to him.
I got on him about a lot of things, but didn't think about that one. Dang it.Can you imagine teaching them to drive a car when you’re in your 80s???
It is a lot like free agency but all NFL teams are essentially equal in that regard. The ACC schools will be making less than half the TV revenue of the SEC and B1G plus UNC football doesn't have the booster money that FSU, Miami and Clemson do. And a lot of kids coming out of high school in the next 2-3 years have never heard of this guy. His legacy is known to older fans, not high school kids.Please. All it is is Free Agency. He’ll do fine…
