I am certain there are just a few other big conference schools with openings in which he has no interest. These kids talk to lots and lots of schools and want as many offers as they can get. Don't think for a second that Purdue has not had many many players over the years that had other schools that they wanted to play for more but then loved it here later. There is nothing wrong with that.
