I saw a brief notice that Walters is taking over calling calling defensive plays, is that true?

Is it true or not? If so, what is needed is someone to call offensive plays other than 2 plunges into the line for no gain and then a pass attempt on 3rd down. Have yet to understand why Purdue coaches do not seem to understand that passing is also allowed 1st and 2nd down!
