Is Brohm worth $6M per year?

At this point I don't care. I'm just glad we get to keep him and find out if he is. I'm thinking yes he is. The recruiting alone is worth the pay jump. Jimmys and Joes to go along with Brohm's Xs and Os equals excitement

Congrats on keeping Jeff. I will continue to pull for you guys. I have no idea how 6 Power 5 wins a year gets you 6 mil but Im happy for you guys. I will never forget that OSU shakedown. Good luck with that big10 championship.Believe it or not most UL fans pull for Purdue. Who the hell else would we pull for Indiana, Ohio State, yeah right. Don't worry about us . We'll be back. Too much financial support to fail. Go Cards

I had not seen anything on contract terms, but when we are in the Big Ten Championship game in a couple year; I am going to say yes, if that is the terms.

When you factor in how bad the Purdue football program was when Brohm took over a roster of MAC caliber talent, 13 wins in the first 2 years is remarkable. With a top 25 recruiting class coming in and the program foundation being layed, you pay the man and his staff. No brainer.

Well when you factor in that we paid The Haze $12 million to wreck our football program, it seems like a bargain.

Having a coach like hazell is what really depletes the coffers. Brohm will more than pay for his salary each year with ticket sales and donations. Mitch knows money and would have spent more if needed because it makes financial sense.

Purdue has plenty of money. We get a ton from BTN and B1G tv deals, our athletic department is self sufficient and Brohm is raising attendance. 6 million for him and a similar number for assistants is not going to hurt the school one bit. This is more about showing recruits and the fan base how serious Purdue takes football now. The fact that we can do it while still maintaining a world class university, an affordable in state tuition, and dedicated Alumni is why Purdue is special.

Jeff is a winner. Purdue being in the West, he and Purdue in 2 years or less will become dominate and vying for the B10 Championships. I predict in 5 years Purdue will be in the play offs. Good luck to Jeff and Purdue.

This year’s atrocious Louisville team had guys on the bench with more natural talent than several of Purdue’s starters. That’s how.
Hey Darrel Hazel is available for a fraction. 12 wins (and counting) in two seasons, after Hazel landed 9 wins in two seasons is a huge accomplishment.
Congrats to the Boilers for doing enough to keep Brohm.
I don't think Purdue will be his last stop, but glad he stayed past just a 2 year pass through.

Who cares??

We've been spending nickels on FB HC's for the past decade, and we became the laughing stock of CFB because of it.

We have all the money in the world. B1G money. Huge endowment. In the black for years and years RE athletics.

Unload the Brinks truck. F it.

Thank goodness Morgan wasn't here as this would have never happened.

This is a lot of money to spend.
Actually there is no "offer" on the table. Our AD, Mike Bobinski and Jeff Brohm talked when all this started. Bobinski (along with Mike Berghoff, the Chair of our BOT) assured Jeff that money alone would not be the issue, at least when it came to Louisville. Bobinski suggested that Jeff needed to figure out where he wanted to be and where he felt he could achieve his goals. They told him, "Decide that first, and the we'll make sure we take care of the financial aspects, to your satisfaction."
Bottom line....dollars were not the deciding factor.

Brohm’s record and resumé is not worth 6 million per. However, the ‘19 recruit class and potential of Brohm once he gets his players is worth it. Brohm has completely revitalized the football program and the fan base. With all of the coverage and attention, I imagine the ‘20 class is going to be a good one again. You definitely go all in on this gamble to have a shot at competing for a Big championship. Brohm is likely going to land Bell (canceled his official visit to IU and Iowa right after the Brohm announcement). Brohm’s offense will be insane and the defense will be much improved. The defensive backs and defensive line additions should drastically help as well. Worth every penny, but he won’t be getting anymore without results. Louisville is our of the picture for the near future.

Anyone with a subscription to KHC would be able to tell you it was NOT about the $ and its NOT 6 mil ...so I'll leak that info over her and tell it now!

We'll see over the next two years who's FOS. Les takes over a team with less talent and not much of a recruiting base while Brohm has two years and is on his third group of incoming recruits with his name on them.

Yeah, Kansas and purdue were in similarly large holes. I highly doubt miles gets 7 wins in year one. In fact, let’s make a bet on that.
