This was posted on an IU site, and I thought some here might find his Mom's comments on his future relevant and interesting.Apologies if this is just duplicate info, but it is a first person casual conversation and thought it might interest somebody...Nothing earth shattering

"Interestingly, I live in Valparaiso and Robbie Hummel's mom works at the middle school that my kids attend. I went in to pick up one of my kids early one day and saw her in the office and asked about Robbie (who was playing in Russia at the time). She saw my IU gear and told me it was going to be much harder to root against Indiana with Archie there. Apparently Archie was an assistant at NC State at the time and was involved in recruiting Robbie. She had nothing but wonderful things to say about Archie going so far as to say Robbie and their family "loved Archie". It was awhile ago but still very good to hear.

Great family by the way (the Hummels) - if we had a different coaching regime we might have had a shot with him - I think they actually really liked Mike Davis before Sampson was hired. Sounds like Robbie may be giving up playing unless he gets a really great offer. She said he was working out with the Bucks recently and may have had a minor back injury derailing one last attempt to get back to the NBA. Sounds like he has broadcasting contracts with both ESPN and the Big Ten Network and plans to move that direction unless a really special basketball playing opportunity arises."

How much do those commentators make? More than he could get with his Purdue business degree?
