Very interesting. Not sure I've ever heard of a player decommitting during an official.looks like one of our OL commits isn't coming...re-opens recruitment during visit.
Yes, I assume that the visit was to see where he fit. Apparently he doesn't. Kudos to this kid for taking the visit and, however it went and whichever side made the decision, handling it very maturely.I commented in another thread. It seems strange he would decommit during an official visit. Most players who decommit do so while at home or at some other school.
Let me get this straight. He made his official this weekend. And in the middle of his visit, he decides to decommit ?
I would speculate he must know of other offensive lineman who are ready to commit. Unlike some, he had some other quality offers.
We should've had Sully come in to keep us from sinking on Hudson.
Yeah looks like a face to face conversation with the coaches on what's best for everyone.Yes, I assume that the visit was to see where he fit. Apparently he doesn't. Kudos to this kid for taking the visit and, however it went and whichever side made the decision, handling it very maturely.
nice of him to wait this long. The young man just tweeted he didn't come
Never mind.Yes, I assume that the visit was to see where he fit. Apparently he doesn't. Kudos to this kid for taking the visit and, however it went and whichever side made the decision, handling it very maturely.
He's gone through a lot, as detailed in the Detroit Free Press, so our complete turnover in coaches surely didn't help.
Hate to miss out on a 6-9, 315 lineman.

Somewhat reminds me of Biggie and some of his obstacles in life. I wish Hudson well'He's gone through a lot, as detailed in the Detroit Free Press, so our complete turnover in coaches surely didn't help.

He posted on Twitter that he did not make the trip.Just to clarify was he or was he not at Purdue this weekend when he de-committed?
I haven't seen that info posted, just all speculation. Maybe he is too tall to be a guard or center, and not quick enough to be a tackle in Brohm's offense. Those were just guesses on Knucklehead forum, who knows if all the reasons will be posted.Thank you! As most are, wonder if his reason(s) are 1) change of coaching staff 2) was he told he didn't fit into Purdue's plan 3) getting better offers 4) other or all of above?
I thought the same thing.Wonder if they talked to him about moving to defense..?
Frankly, if he lost 100 lbs to get down to 300 then I wonder how much flab he still carries around. Yes, 6'9" sounds great but that can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.I view this as a win win situation. It does appear that Hudson did discuss his future this weekend with Brohm. And it appears as if part of that conversation was where does he fit in to Brohm's plans on offense or defense. And for a guy, who lost 100 pounds to get down to 300 pounds, I would guess he's not very fast. And many have suggested he's too tall to be an effective offensive lineman or defensive tackle.
It appears that rather than bringing in a 3* athlete that doesn't fit a system and will be wasted for 4 years, Brohm has a system in mind and is honest with recruits, and is signing recruits that will fit into his system.
CJB should take a look at Brett Kitrell 6'4 280 3 star OL who decommitted from Minny a couple of days ago to take Hudson's spot.Frankly, if he lost 100 lbs to get down to 300 then I wonder how much flab he still carries around. Yes, 6'9" sounds great but that can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
