If there's not too much "baggage" or "tampering" surrounding a nationally, top-ranked HS player, coaches should always recruit them as long as they know that there's mutual interest (of course), that the recruit is able to enroll (grades, etc.) and plans on enrolling. The debate for each individual example of a top prospect can be what one's definition of too much "baggage" or too much "tampering" would be with regards to them.

True, that is part of the debate. There are 2 other parts of the debate presented in the article: 1) Does a team really need 5-star studs to go to a Final Four and 2) does a 5-star stud significantly improve the chances of going to a Final Four?
