Injury update

Ya, losing both Fuller and Jones is tough. Langford-Johnson and Knox are good support guys, and DJ has a knack for getting to the edge before the defense. But I don't think either of those guys can consistently take it between the tackles 15+ times a game against B1G defenses.

Was really hoping to see more of Worship by now. I hope he doesn't go the way of Jared Crank.

I'm thinking Worship may find himself on the other side of the ball next season as a DE, OLB, or bulk him up to a DT.

I dont think that will happen. I would think more of an H back role would make sense.
There are two RB commits and with the position not losing any players to graduation....I have a hard time feeling that Worship will get more PT and with the losses up front and in the LB's, Worship's worth may be better served on defense. With Fuller stepping up to a starring role and the fact Jones will still be there along with Knox being 2 years out from his knee issue....I don't see Worship getting much PT and there are two other RB's who could serve that 'FB' role just as well (FR Alexander Horvath 220 & JR Lane Beeler 230).

Just because youre big doesnt mean you can play LB or bulk up and play line.

I dont see any of the RBs coming in and taking offensive snaps from what is already here. I think that is more a long term personnel move.

But that is sort of my point. With a fully healthy Markell Jones and Tario Fuller, there just won't be snaps for Worship outside of the role as a FB. At this point, you need to get your best athletes and players on the field and with the exodus of talent at LB (McCollum, Bentley, Danny E, Hudson, & Hardy), DE/DT (Larkin, Robinson, Miles), there is going to be a need filled there. Worship appears to have the skill base set to provide that depth and I am guessing Brohm could easily have Worship added to a package on offense in a goal line set/power running scenario comes up.

Also, in the two deeps on defense right now.....Purdue stands to lose 10 players. Of those 10, 7 are starters. There is going to be lots of chances for snaps in the spring and headed in to the 2018 season.

I get the issue, i just dont think Worship is suited for a move.

Anyone you could see make the move on the roster or incoming verbals?

I wouldnt be surprised if there is another exodus this season and Brohm hits the 5th year market again.

Just dont know enough about the young players this year and i hate moving somebody late in their career unless it is blatantly obvious.

did Worship play LB along with being a RB in H.S.?
Looking at his hudl videos, I don't see any highlights that would support him playing LB. He still has two years and a move would provide depth. I think he could become a guy that could provide depth at LB and RB as I don't think he'll ever get starters reps at RB...but his athletic ability might get him more snaps and provide better depth at a position of need on the defensive side.

Looking at the roster, DT seems to be very young with 7 guys coming back with Jones, Neal, and Wilson coming back. At DE though, the team loses the top 2 players and only gets back since Robinson moved inside (Miles and Larkin). There are 5 players coming back to the DE position mainly Higgins as the only one with meaningful snaps up to this point in the season. At LB, Purdue graduates Danny E, Bentley, McCollom, and Hudson while only returning Bailey, Simmons, and a few freshman LB's that have mainly played special teams.

If I am looking at a position of need for players to make moves to or to have transfer come in, I would say OLB and DE appear to be the biggest need at this point on the defensive side as CB and S appear to have solid depth to fill the needs.

A player who is interesting but has never really gotten over the hump is Jarrett Burgess. At 6'3 and 220 pounds, you would think he may be able to get in to TE (I think they looked at this previously either with Hazell or early on with Brohm in the spring) or possible OLB if he has the physicality to do so). However, being a senior...I think he'll just end up continuing to provide depth deep at the WR position and being a special teamer.

also how about the JC kid Fakasiekki? is Tim Cason and Will Colmery on the team? thanks

Fakasiieiki wasnt a JC kid. He is a redshirt freshman this year. I think someone mentioned he might be on the small side.

Colmery is done. Cason is practicing i think
