We learned today about the status of a few injured Boilermakers. The answers for the two most-notable guys, considering Eddy Wilson and Da'Wan Hunte are starters, were reverse of what I thought they'd be.

Darrell Hazell said Wilson, a sophomore who will start at nose, is "fine" after he injured his right foot during Thursday's practice. He had an X-ray and the results were good.

"He's clear to go," Hazell said. "There's nothing wrong with Eddy, he's good."

A little more cloudy outlook for Hunte, who got kicked in the right calf area on Wednesday, forcing him out the shortened second half of that practice and Thursday. Hazell said Hunte, a junior cornerback and clearly Purdue's best, isn't yet back full.

"Da'Wan's still a little gimpy," he said. "We'll figure out how much he can do today and take it day-by-day."

Other notes: Defensive end Tim Faison, who has been out since Aug. 11, is cleared, Hazell said. It would, though, seem unlikely that Faison would go on Saturday, considering he's missed so much time. ... Hazell ruled reserve linebacker Sawyer Dawson out, due to a hamstring. He was injured on Thursday, the latest in the string of minor injuries for the redshirt freshman. He, of course, joins D.J. Knox (knee), Eric Swinger (knee), Benaiah Franklin (hand) and Mike Little (ankle).
