IU will finish 4-8 or 5-7 at best
This is the best team IU has had in a long time. Given their schedule, I wouldnt be surprised if they win 2 more. Yes, they have had a weak schedule, but they took advantage and won they games they were supposed to. Previous years they would be 2-3 or at best 3-2. Maryland and Iowa at home plus Minnesota on the road are winnable. Purdue also isn’t going to be able to just walk in and thrash them either. IU has a QB much like Nebraska’s QB that just put a hurting on the Purdue defense. And their defense has been respectable, granted it has been mostly against struggling offenses.
I would be shocked if they lose out, but IU does suck and stranger things have happened. That would absolutely drain away any momentum they have as well. What a shame that would be.
Ramsey isn’t as explosive as Martinez and Martinez put a hurt on Purdue for one drive until Purdue was up multiple scores...
People need to remember as you evaluate our games.. we lead the big ten in every explosive play that’s measurable
Maryland can run the ball and keep it away from IU’s offense. The same for Iowa...traditionally. Haven’t seen a bit of Iowa yet this season. This is the best team IU has had in a long time. And that has actually really hurt the defense. They looked gassed at the end of the game and there just isn’t any depth. Ramsey may not be as explosive, but if you sleep on him he will make you pay. I have been impressed and I though IU was going to start off 2-3. I also didn’t expect an 0-3 start from Purdue in excuciating fashion. I will say that Purdue has shown in the last 3 games that they are a good team and the future is very bright. I still think that even though Purdue dropped 3 winnable games at home before getting into the meat of the schedule, they should still make a bowl game.

My best guess is that IU goes in to the bucket game needing a 6th win potentially while Purdue will be around 4-7 at the time.
Best scenario for both would be IU at 6-5 and Purdue at 5-6 though. Could have been a real chance for both teams to be ranked had Purdue not dropped the first three and if IU could pull a few upsets. Have both teams ever been ranked for the Bucket Game?
Ramsey is like David Blough vs Northwestern, at best. He will take what he is given, no more. But he does that fairly well. He isn't asked to throw the ball more than 12 yards but maybe 2 or 3 times a game.
They were both ranked in 1967.They both may have been in 1979,as I know Purdue was but maybe IU wasnt. The latter was the only season when both schools won Bowl Games.Thats sad.,Maryland can run the ball and keep it away from IU’s offense. I think they cover the spread, osu spent alot this past saturday.I get the funny feeling both will be 5-7 AGAIN this year
All it takes is one shot on Ramsey and IU is screwed. Their offense puts him in harms way a lot and he got destroyed last year. He’s taken some big shots this year too. OSU and PSU will tee off on him.And that has actually really hurt the defense. They looked gassed at the end of the game and there just isn’t any depth. Horse$hit. Purdue will not be 4-7.Maryland can run the ball and keep it away from IU’s offense. The same for Iowa...traditionally. Haven’t seen a bit of Iowa yet this season.

WRONG
I think 6-5 is quite reasonable. IF the offense keeps playing the way it has been, 7-4 is not out of the realm of possibility. I think we will lose to OSU. Other than OSU, there isn't another team on the schedule we can't beat.Dude, what do you think our record going into Bloomington will be? Please tell me no higher than 6-5
I agree with you.MSU and Wisconsin are both good but not unbeatableII think 6-5 is quite reasonable. IF the offense keeps playing the way it has been, 7-4 is not out of the realm of possibility. I think we will lose to OSU. Other than OSU, there isn't another team on the schedule we can't beat.
Yup, both MSU and Wisky look vulnerable. I am surprised that MSU has looked as shaky as it has.I agree with you.MSU and Wisconsin are both good but not unbeatableI

You thought they’d be 2-3 against the likes of Florida International and the likes??? Really? I thought Rutgers was the toughest School I saw them play and.....
Have both teams ever been ranked for the Bucket Game?

Thanks for the in-depth answer GlennTechnically, they weren't both ranked in 1967. Indiana was #5 going into the Minnesota game, but dropped out of the rankings after the loss. In 1967, the polls only included the top 10 teams. Indiana made it's way back to #4 after beating #3 Purdue. They didn't expand to a top 20 ranking until 1968.
OSU still leads 28-20.IU is RPO’ing OSU to death and using the over-aggressive OSU defensive calls against them. Great scheme up to this point by IU but OSU just looks like they are still waiting for the game to actually start.
Not even close.Indiana is gonna win this game.
If you live in Indiana get ready for it. The media is gonna act like they are the 72 dolphins
Not even close.
