I don't know if anyone has pointed this out already, but I'd say the reason the game was so sloppy on offense, was because of how both teams were playing the most physical game I have witnessed for some time and took shooters out of their flow. Yes, LOYER was HUGe for us last night, but other guys on both teams had trouble with their shots falling. I was so EXCITED to walk away from this game with a win and nobody hurt as far as I know. Boiler up!

They took a page from the St. Peter’s and FDU book on how to play Purdue. Overwhelm the refs with fouls and then complain when the calls are uneven. I felt like Purdue handled it better, running a lot of the offense through Loyer. His drives to the basket work pretty well against that style of play and actually create better opportunities for Edey than traditional post feeds.

The irony is that Fletch who we know is very lean and considered to struggle with physical play was fantastic against a very physical team...although I think Tenn was mostly physical inside on Zach and overall physical in the lane as well. I wonder if the time Braden drove and scored off the bank in the final couple of minutes was a particular set? The reason is had Braden missed, Zach had managed to get inside position in front of the rim with a high probability that had Braden missed that Zach was going to get the board. I may need to go back and just watch Zach and see how he got such great position.

Don’t know if you stayed up for the other semi, but it almost got ugly there as Self/Shaka had to be separated. I think Purdue’s depth helps them here. Hoping the Eagles are a bit gassed today. Painter should tell Jones now he’s seen it, go play it.
🚂 Boiler Up. Wouldn’t mind sitting @ #1 for a little while.

Did not stay up for it as I was fighting a headache most of the day, or I should say the tiredness of a bad headache from the day before.

Yep. This is what other teams bet on. Rutgers, NW did it too. The old "they can't call them all" strategy and then complain about the officials and pray we miss free throws.

I'd rather be #1 at the end of the year, but it would be nice to get there 3 seasons in a row. Not sure we have ever done that..
