The NIL thing has really dampened my enthusiasm for following a particular college program.
But part of me is really glad NIL is shining a light on what was going on already in recruiting. Players were getting paid for years and years in a lot of places, real money, especially at the big football schools in the south and in certain easy-to-spot hoops programs.
Will we end up in a better place with the bagmen out in the open? Doubtful. But we can hope.
