If not, I'm afraid this would have ended more like the Nebraska game. Try to isolate Biggie with his back to the basket. He holds the ball too long. Turnover or blocked shot.

I love Biggie and he's a huge reason we won this game. I'm just saying I don't want the ball in his hands on the last shot.

Games like today were why I have a bit of a love/hate relationship him (and by hate, I mean that more metaphorically than anything).

He was 3-6 from 3 (which I'm not sure how much I am in love with him shooting 6 threes, but that's another topic), but he struggled a lot with Maryland's D, where he had a big guy against him. He became a bit predictable inside which helped Maryland's D be more effective. I do not think he is selfish, but he needs to start looking to pass out from those situations because teams are collapsing on him.

He's 50% on the year from 3 averaging more than 1 make a game. When the rest of the team was cold I don't have any issue with him going 3 for 6. Take away all 6 attempts and say we enter the post to him 6 times do we think we would get 9 points out of those 6 entries? I doubt it.

Personally I would like to see him pop more 12-15 footers.....has a good outside shot...

interesting point. in terms of guys who can get their own shot, he isn't high on the list and painter has on more than one occasion gone to him to get his own look. i think Carsen is the best on the team at getting his own bucket. painter's hand was forced tonight, but I could see him running a similar set next time they need a bucket with biggie as the screener (and trailer for the rebound)

When a game is tight, who should be the top options? Should Carsen be option #1? Should Caleb be option #1? Should Isaac be option #1? I think those are the three best options on this team when you need someone to create or initiate a play in the final seconds.

Luckily, Purdue has 7 players I am perfectly fine with taking the last shot. I think Biggie forces it with the game on the line, and he is very turnover prone when he forces it. I like giving Carsen the ball to see if he can collapse the defense. If they don't, take the shot. If they do, pass it to one of the many capable shooters.

I'm just saying on a game by game basis, not sure 6 attempts a game is ideal, it's not that serious of a comment on my end as we won't see that. Part of why he has a good percentage is he's selected them well - he only shoots about 2 a game.

Carsen penetrating (assuming we only need 2) with Dakota and Cline in each corner .... Biggie screening and rolling behind Carsen for a putback. Take whatever they give us ... .

I would run both Dakota and Cline across the baseline from their least-best corner to their best corner ... thus creating some clogging under the basket as they pass each other, at the same time, run Carsen off a Biggie pick on whichever elbow allows CE to drive to his preferred side. Haas would be low post on the same side as Biggie sets the pick. He would also create a bit of confusion as the two wings cross under the basket and he would be on the weakside block for a rebound or pass from CE. That gives us CE on a drive, Cline and Dakota in each corner for a pass to shoot, Haas under for a pass to shoot and Biggie follows CE to the strong side block for a put back ...

CE shouldn't be our fulltime PG, but he should be on the final possession to drive and dish. I liked the last possession.
