I know, I know....lot's of family obligations and other competing priorities.

But, what a better family event on a Saturday afternoon than to be in the arena cheering on the Boilers?

Am I going? No, but I also live in SC so it's not exactly a spur of the moment opportunity trip for me. But, if I were still in Chicago, I'd be gathering the kids and wife and hitting Naptown.

I live in Detroit and if MSU and Purdue play Sunday a group of us are making the drive. Two Boilers and two Spartans

Good point but as far as seeing the game, it is better on TV unless you are willing to pay at least $500 for a courtside seat. The peon seats are like watching bugs run around a parking lot.

For my family that would be a $1000 afternoon.

Really hope more Boiler fans stuff the area for the title game tomorrow like they did in 09. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of noise from our fans today.

Kudos to the Purdue fans that went, but it wasn't an impressive showing.

FYI - The ACC Tournament final is between UNC (4+ hours away) and UVA (2+ hours away). The cheapest tickets online are $150. The Big Ten Tournament final is under $50.

Our fans need to freaking show up. To hear the announcers say "oh, there's some Purdue fans in here" - and not talk about how it's a home court, is embarrassing.

Go to the game if you can!!!!

Heaven forbid you support the team. They can't hear you on your couch.

There are lower level tickets under $100.

I would go if I lived close to Indianapolis. East Tennessee isn't the closest place to Indianapolis.

That's fine...I don't think anyone is saying you need to make a 5-6 hour journey. But Purdue has 50,000+ alumni in the Indianapolis area. No reason that place shouldn't be packed full of Purdue fans.

I think we'll see many more show up tomorrow. For one, it's the championship game. Second, our semifinal game was one that most projected we could take care of so fans who are limited by time or financial constraints probably figured they could just do a day trip on Sunday for the title game.

They've sold since Purdue won.

There are tickets $100-125 in the lower level in the corners still. There are tickets in the club level that are $80-100 still too.

The secondary market online is not necessarily the cheapest route either. So much of it is done in person (since the tickets are paper tickets).

And it's hard to predict prices. Usually the championship game demand is relatively low since it is late on a Sunday. Most visitor fans will be going back vs. staying for this game if they aren't playing in it. However, the outcome of the other game matters too. Obviously more MSU fans would be able to come in for a championship game (and also have sold a good number of tickets). If MSU lost and their fans departed with their tickets, the championship game tickets will be a lot cheaper. MSU wins and they could be more expensive than they are now.

i dont know either, $124 (now $150) was the cheapest mid-level, centers i saw earlier
bankers life upper level is just not worth it imo. i end up watching a stream on my phone up there. mackey spoils me i guess.

I mean, this is absurd. You have to have mid-level center court seats? I understand your point about Mackey. But anything in the first 2 levels in that arena is FINE. There are tickets under $100. And quite frankly, there's upper levels for $60 that are in the first few rows - which really aren't that bad.

Go support the team!

hey hey hey i'm shopping for some right now, seeing the mid level corners now (had a filter)

Having sat in the upper level of BLF before, I would not ever buy tickets to watch from up there again. I've been fine with club and lower level seats though.

Give it a rest...it is very easy to pontificate how others should spend their money....like thousands of others, for whom circumstances don't allow us to be there in person, I will be screaming my head off tomorrow from northern Virginia.

Jim Nance was very complementary of us fans that were there

Watching the MSU/Maryland game, the MSU fans sound louder than Purdue fans ever did. It's not like Nantz was gushing about how many Purdue fans were there...and didn't even mention them until the very end when the game was sealed.

The Purdue fans that were there were great, don't get me wrong - kudos to them. But they weren't in near enough numbers to make a big impact. And I'm also not the only one saying the crowd was a little weak.

I would agree that we could have been louder, however we had pretty good numbers there but were scattered around. They need more of a blocking effort or capability but it's hard because IU lost and all those tix became available. I didn't see hardly ANY IU jerseys in there today.

the Big Ten needs to do away with that stupid colored logo in the middle of the court, it's very distracting and a total nuisance. GET RID OF IT. Come up with a new logo that makes sense. It's so ridiculous and it makes the big ten look bad.

Again, you're taking things so literal. I've clearly said people around Indianapolis should go, not people from Northern Virginia, Tennessee, etc.

Not every Purdue fan NEEDS to go. Purdue has 50,000+ alumni in the immediate Indianapolis area!! There has to be enough that can go and afford it that they can make it a homecourt advantage!

I love the excuses thrown around. Michigan State fans are more apparent than Purdue fans today. Other teams are packing their conference tournaments from hours away (turn the ACC Tournament on tonight). But Purdue fans have 1,000,001 excuses that we can't fill an arena 60 miles from campus.

I mentioned earlier, tickets for the ACC Championship game are starting at $150. Yet our fans are complaining about having to spend $100 because they'll only go if they can sit in the lower level. Geesh. The Verizon Center is 3,000 more seats than Bankers Life too - there are much worse seats in that place, yet UVA and UNC fans still want to go.

Based on your posting history, I suspect that regardless of how many Purdue fans attend, you won't be happy- VBG!

$120 is the cheapest seat not in the balcony. That would be $600 for my family. I sat in the balcony last week. No way I'd pay $300 to sit up there. I might go look for some on the street tomorrow, though.

I'm more concerned about the number.

Turn on some other conference tourneys and you'll see what I'm saying. When UVA played in the ACC Tournament, the Verizon Center was packed with UVA fans (campus is 2+ hours away from DC). When Villanova played in the Big East Tournament, their fans packed their sessions (campus is 90 minutes away). Yes, IU fans got rid of their tickets. At most conference tournaments, the local team's fans still playing (i.e. Purdue) would then buy them up in droves.

The whole point is that our fans shouldn't be "scattered", they should be "packed"! :)

If I were within an eight-hour drive, I'd definitely make the trip.....enjoy the games ladies and gentlemen for those who attend. I'll be tossing things and shouting from the "Lone Star" State.

I live in Detroit and if MSU and Purdue play Sunday a group of us are making the drive. Two Boilers and two Spartans

Don't give "Cousin" and "Gold Duster" too hard of a time during the drive.

Gameday for a championship game is usually pretty easy on the street. The tickets have been selling after Purdue won (gotta jump on it!).

MSU will still keep the demand up a little though. They have more fans than Maryland, so if Maryland loses, there won't be as many flooding the streets.

However, most "out of towners" not playing tomorrow will not stick around for the championship game (whereas these games today will still have some on-lookers).

Keep an eye on StubHub and EBay - the StubHubs of the world will probably not be your cheapest option (half of which has to do with the additional fees you pay).

I'm assuming you will be first in line next year in DC? :)

I've always heard 25K live in the Indy metro area. I'm not sure the radius you're using for your number. But regardless, there should be a decent contingent there tomorrow. I admit the fans that were there were heard on TV. I think they represented well for whatever number was there.

Purdue has 25,000 alumni....in Marion County. Another 20k in Hamilton and then there are 3 other counties around it. The number is probably closer to 75k within 30-45 minutes of downtown.

The whole point is that it shouldn't be "decent", it should be swarming. Watch the ACC Tournament tonight - that's the atmosphere it should be.

And yes, I will be there in DC. This season, I've gone to the MD game, games up in CT and last year I went to Rutgers because I was up in NYC for work at the time. Don't take living near Purdue for granted, I wish I could go to so many more than I can.

Totally understand. I'm in New England. I'll be there in two years in NYC. My last BB game was in Houston against Duke when I was living down there.

I doubt there are another 35K in the other counties besides Marion and Hamilton. But your point is sound. There should be plentiful tickets tomorrow and folks need to show up.

Another good point. Since I moved back to the Midwest, I've tried to go to a lot more games.

There are enough fans within a two hour radius that we should pack it. Being in the BTT title game is rare and additionally it's probably the last time you'll see Davis and hammons in person.

We as fans have the chance to impact the game.

Go to the game!

Yeah - use the money you will save this fall by not buying football tix.

If you need any convincing about the crowd mattering, Robbie Hummel has tweeted twice since the game yesterday - both about fan support. His first tweet immediately after the game was practically begging Purdue fans to pack the arena today, not about the game that just ended.
