Not inside source or anything like that, just a hunch.
If you read his comments from the newspaper in AZ, he's definitely open to returning to college and makes no mention of Europe or the D league.

I think most of the advice he's getting is to go back to school and work on a couple of specific aspects of his game and he'll either be a lottery or at least a first rounder next year.
Just take enough classes to stay eligible and that give you plenty of time to work on your game. Not everyone's goal is to get a degree, some, like Biggie, have a goal of playing in the NBA. Fine with me.
I guess we'll know for sure by Wednesday.

Some people think RB is a rookie at his profession but...time will tell.

Does the NBA value D-league experience, or B1G college experience morel??

In another thread someone posted that NBA people would encourage CS and others to return to school, rather than D-league. That the college experience is more valuable RE developing your game, etc etc etc.

Anyone know which is which??

BTW - I support this thread.

Not sure he will ever be a Lottery pick. His issues(Quickness, handle, agility, lateral movement, shot blocking) that will keep him from being drafted are not going to get better by returning to college. The NBA 4 is not the traditional 4 man from the past.

I think NBA teams would definitely prefer a kid stay in college vs. D-League/Europe, particularly if you are playing at a major conference school.

Obviously there are other factors at play (academics, financial situation, etc.) that can affect the situation, but I think any NBA person would prefer a kid playing elite college basketball over the other options.

Yeah, I agree. D-league is right next to F-league. If it was A or B league I would be more impressed. :)

So Biggie, "Why don't you come back?"

It's a little strange to me that Kravitz basically quotes NBA execs saying he should stay in college (which I believe most of us would believe), meanwhile, Swanigan says nobody has told him to go back to college.

Not sure if he's just trying to hear what he wants to hear or what (which is certainly not abnormal for an 18 year old).

Hopefully Barnes is helping him with a clearer (and more experienced) mind. Even if he still goes pro - I hope he makes the decision knowing it could be a not great journey (and quite frankly, some of those options are going to be much less "luxury" than what he'd have at Purdue).
