Point guard Johnny Hill has that stomach fire even without last year’s disappointment. He transferred from Texas-Arlington for NCAA tourney opportunity and he’s set to fully embrace it.

“This is very special,” he said. “This was one of my top goals.

“But I tell you, it was overshadowed by the great teammates I have, the great coaches we have. It made it much easier to give my all. Making the NCAA is a great feeling, but to be surrounded by so many great people is an even better feeling.”

Defensively Hill and PJ gave us IMO the best PG D in the League. They complimented each other very well and worked well together when we needed them both in there to beat a press. I am very proud of them and I am glad they are part of Purdue's family.

I won't lie, I was a bit apprehensive about him coming given he had jumped around a bit.

And while he doesn't get pointed out as much as Octeus because Octeus had more impact on the offensive end, I really have been impressed with how he's played and the improvements he has made - particularly defensively.

I hope he keeps it up and continues to impress.
