of how Brohm is working the officials
not getting Brohm anywhere though.I was thinking the exact same thing.
of how Brohm is working the officials
I have seen "working the officials" completely backfire many times.I do agree you have to advocate/protect your players.I'll take winning over working the officials
Why? it ain't working. Been wasting his coaching time. Needs to coach his kids to stop being dumbasses
whoa . . .
He's "coached his kids" to play their hearts out. They're playing fearlessly.
Ever tried to "pull up" on a play like that? Damn, dude . . . you're going all out the whole d@mn game. I'm frustrated as h*ll at the callsw, probably the right call, although marginal, but the only reason we were in the game is because Brohm brought them there.
Goodness.
They're being "dumbasses"????
I'll take that all day, every day.
"Dumbass" is what I see on this forum on a regular basis.
Just callin' 'em as I sees 'em.
Fearless to shove a guy who is four steps out of bounds?
Nope. That's Hazell dumbassery! And Brohm is at his best when he is coaching those kids as they exit the field. Today he let some calls get in his head. And his working the refs actually didn't help and possibly hindered things.
1 play?
Your b*tch is about ONE PLAY?
No, if you're really trying to "get it", you would understand, the only way they were in this game at half was to play all-out. Hopefully you understand what that truly means, but I doubt it.
Goodbye. I don't deal with a holes.
Oh good lord! Go to a game sometime. You might come away with an entirely different perspective. I think we start to believe that what we see on TV is what is actually happening. It's not.of how Brohm is working the officials
Not fair Southsider. You started this by demeaning the players and got called out for it. If anyone here is an a-hole, it might be you.Goodbye. I don't deal with a holes.

Nobody liked the way today's game turned out. I was not surprised by the final score, but I was disappointed by the officials and some of their calls. I agree with you that the push out of bounds was a bad play. The two ejections were on plays that I thought were fair and reasonable hits. It is those plays most of us are focused on when responding to your accusations. Recommend you take a deep breath and come back into the discussion with less animosity.
Going to take more than 1 game to change the culture of Purdue football. Brohm is sending a strong message to not only the refs, but his team that he has their back. Just wait until he's been here a few years, Purdue will start getting the calls and respect that Harbaugh gets.not getting Brohm anywhere though.

John Wooden and Denny Crum both rarely got on officials. That said, I personally believe that fire from the coach towards the ref is "generally" better than no fire. I think Matt has some fire, just not at the same level as some. I'm wired towards more fire, but that is me. I also believe it is "generally" more effective because I believe that humanity has more people that take "flight" than "fight" in conflict resolution...It's his first B1G game. Give him and the refs time to get to know each other.
We KNOW it works in basketball for a number of coaches, so there is no reason to think it can't work on the gridiron.

If you don't think we get worked over by the refs in hoops, then I don't think you'll understand my intent.Your original post was about Painter, not the football team. Stay on track here.
As far as the football team and Brohm, he had every right to be angry. We deserved some of the calls we got hit with, but UM got away with all kinds of fouls that were not called. Big time disparity and inequality of calls. ...but that is for the other board.
Take a look at the standing bub.... we finished 1st in the league & they were 5th. That's not a big disparity considering they were having a down year.In Big Ten conference games last season, Purdue was +50 in foul calls, which is excellent. MSU was +45. Painter works the officials.
we are in agreement o the refs sometimes screwing us over. I have seen several travesties that keep me up at night, so mad I can't sleep. If you don't think we get worked over by the refs in hoops, then I don't think you'll understand my intent.
Go all the time. Had seats 5 rows off the end of the Purdue bench. He yells more at his players when they complain about a call then he ever does the refs. This has to be one of the most ridiculous threads I have seen in a while on here. Which says a lot considering 73's posts.
If you don't think CMP works the officials, then you have never been to a game while he has been a coach. Period.
If I thought he did, I wouldn't be complaining about it.... It was pretty clear to everyone watching the Purdue game that Brohm was working the officials, the announcers pointed it out several times. Coming out of the half, when they interviewed Brohm, he even said "I'm happy with our team, I'm not happy with the officials". I'm surprised he hasn't been fined for that... but I love his fire. The video of him slamming down the chair in the locker room before the game is also classic. I know that's not CMP's style, but I wish he would provide a little fire, especially when we have a big game. Brohm is going to be a legend around here if he stays long enough.we are in agreement o the refs sometimes screwing us over. However, Painter does work the refs. We went over this last year and the year before. I get tired of the same misinformed crap about Painter getting posted. That's why I called you on your posting.
Izzo is also a Hall of Fame coach and, IMO, is second only to Coach K in influencing the refs.Take a look at the standing bub.... we finished 1st in the league & they were 5th. That's not a big disparity considering they were having a down year.

Then you aren't watching the right bench. As a student I went he was constantly yelling at the refs.Go all the time. Had seats 5 rows off the end of the Purdue bench. He yells more at his players when they complain about a call then he ever does the refs.
Yes you would. You've brought this up time and time again and every time it's proven to be an empty complaint. Yet here you are yet again, trying to bring up a 'problem' that doesn't exist. If I thought he did, I wouldn't be complaining about it.

I have known a guy all my life that has sat close enough to painter for each and every game he has coached (home) at Purdue. He can hear what is being said. He assures me that Painter is on the refs hard the whole game from a verbal standpoint. It just does not show with the lack of body language. We get our share of calls that look a little suspicious if you are looking at them objectively.John Wooden and Denny Crum both rarely got on officials. Yeah, Matt gets on them...all coaches do to some extent. Some get on them much more than others...with a variety of success. I do believe in what I stated though for many...people take flight before fight. That said..."some" refs have really large egos and getting on them will make things worse.I have known a guy all my life that has sat close enough to painter for each and every game he has coached (home) at Purdue.
