I have to hand it to them, the new coaching staff...

Seems to be winning their fair share of recruits.

Recruiting is only part of coaching I know, but it us the more visible part for us. In 90 days, the rest will be more visible.

However, if they can game plan and execute like they gave been recruiting thus far, this season may have some surprises.

While the future seems very bright I think I would still hesitate on putting high expectations for a win-loss record this season. The schedule is exponentially more difficult than last season. We have a new quarterback. We have a lot of roster turnover. I will personally be happy with six and six in a bowl game

But that hard schedule should push our program forward as we'll take on the best of the best and grow up quickly.

We get to 6-6 (or better) would be HUGE with our SOS.

Walters and staff have my respect! The staff has done a phenomenal job with recruiting while building a high level atmosphere in such short time. They have quickly built relationships and respect from high level recruits all over the country. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Walters can build in the years to come at Purdue. On paper the 24’ class is looking like a good one so keep it rollin! I’m sure there will be ups and downs this upcoming season but there’s no reason why this team can’t go bowling. Build off that brick by brick and Boilermaker football will be fun to watch for years to come!

i will stick with my pre hire thinking. 3 wins this fall is not failure and woule not be a surprise with SOS and disruptions

If we only win 3 games I'm starting the "Fire Walters" bandwagon. I don't accept 3 wins as anything less than a failure. He'll IU is expecting 3 wins and that's a dumpster fire of a program

Definitely managing my expectations this year, keeping it to a 9 or 10 win season seems pretty realistic.

I usually pick a conservative 7-5 and the Pinstripe Bowl, and will do so again this season. My "out on a limb" will be that we will lose to someone we should beat (Northwestern?) and upset either Ohio State or Michigan, claiming the "Spoilermakers" label once again.

Beating Michigan would make my season. I can’t stand their football or basketball coaches so beating them gives me great pleasure.

I mean some things have to happen, but Walters seems pretty squared away. If card and mockobee stay healthy and tackle is fine, this is probably a 7-5/8-4 team.

Hope you're right. I think this is a step-back year. Defense should be better. I just hope we have enough playmakers at WR. ARY staying on the field will be crucial.

I can’t write off concerns ever with this program.. but I guess I’d ask the question this way.. don’t you think there are a lot of ways we’ve been a step back a long time? Example.. the last time I saw a Purdue team really be able to go toe to toe defensively on the line of scrimmage was 2003….

I’m not discounting the things that can happen with change

Agree with the ARY part. Don't forget about Jaws...I mean Sheffield. I think he could have himself a very productive year.
