I hate these unis

I’m all for the alternate jerseys. But I can’t stand what we are wearing today. The Grey socks are awful. The jersey should switch the Grey part to the shoulder pad and the body part black. Then Grey number. We could then have a Grey pant.

I'm not sure how both teams are allowed to wear light colored uniforms. If I were the referee, I would have forced Illinois to change to a dark color.

I liked them, except I'd have preferred names instead of Purdue. I liked the helmets too. First time we've had any like that.

I wish they'd go with a sharp gold alternate. As one said, make the gray gold instead. I'm not talking about those hideous things we wore during the Orton days. Gold with white numbers was awful. Something sharp and modern would be nice.

Not a fan of the grey uniforms. They fit in though with a gloomy overcast day however. Glad we got the win despite the ugly uniforms. I also hate the grey uniforms that the BB team wears sometimes. Not even a good grey color - just ugly. If you are going to wear grey at least where a dark grey!

Honestly, what is the message with these alt-uniforms? They are ugly by anyone's standard. Are they intended to impress recruits?

I think Oregon started this freak show. It's what we used to call a fad, a popular but short-lived trend. In five years these alt-unis will be gone.

To attract the youth of America, sell more merchandise and to be different and not wear the same thing over and over since we are not a traditional uniform FB school power!

I honestly don't understand alternate uniforms.
I never played on any team, in any sport, for any school or sponsor where I wanted to confuse anyone about what team I was on. I was always happy and proud of the team, school and/or sponsor and I always felt that the branding was a very positive thing.

Things have changed all the way down to the youth leagues in all sports...it is more about the name on the back of the uniform then the front and they all have multiple alt uniforms also. Heck my last HS in Texas had three different helmets, white, matte grey and shiny grey to mix and match with fours sets of uniforms, white, red, grey and blue!
