I had obligations so recorded the game but couldn’t avoid seeing the texts which told me we were getting crushed.
So, I’ll save myself the 3 hours and ask for a few brief synopsis’ from you all.
Were we just that overmatched?

I also missed the game because of my medical rehab. My son told me not to look at the score. So I came here instead.

Purdue looked like first game under Hazel. Dropped interception first quarter, could have been a pick 6, couldn't protect Blough, rarely room to run for Knox and Jones, defense was flat out terrible, team was 2 steps slow, it was like they stood and thought about what to do instead of reacting to what they saw, then it was too late. Just don't understand how team was so up and down this year.

The talent mismatch was substantial.

On defense it looked like 1st string playing against 3rd string. Or seniors playing against freshman. We had no swagger, we had no answer. They just walked into the end zone basically on 2 of their first 3 possessions. I know we had some key injuries and all but this was a very embarrassing way to end the season. Probably worse than the Minnesota loss. Hope Sindelar is ready to go next year and play lights out because we are going to need him if we are going to reach the expectations of the fan base next year.

I'm not ready to turn the keys over to Sindelar just yet. Brohm recruited Plummer really hard. There must have been a reason. Sindelar is a high character guy and I would love to see him be successful but someone (perhaps a coach) should correct his habit of staring down his receivers. Perhaps a solid offensive line would give him more time to go through his progressions. He seems to have tunnel vision and I always worry about interceptions when he is in the game. However, I'm more concerned about both offensive and defensive lines and pass coverage downfield.

Not sure how ready Plummer is. Sindelar has a great arm and could take a giant leap if he can become more accurate and take care of some of the other issues you mentioned. We definitely have those other deficiencies to worry about that probably won't be fixable over night so we are going to need to be pretty effective on offense to be able to keep up.

We were fortunate to get by this year with two VERY substandard lines and one that sorely missed their best D lineman today. One can only get by without good lineman and it really showed today...while I was not happy with the result, it didn’t surprise me. Keep recruiting and that should change as good lines make the offense and defense look better!

The game looked like Auburn running scripted 7-on-7 drills against practice squad walk-ons. Don't bother watching it - it's that bad.

Biggest thing was their receivers completely outmatched our secondary. It wasn't even close... A close second was both of our lines being totally overwhelmed.
