I bet our team, who will be challenging for the BIG crown next season and can play with anyone in the league and has some great young talent, really loves our fans going into epic meltdown because we didn't sign one recruit. I bet our current recruits, one of whom was neck for neck with Biggie for Mr. Bball and is the best shooter in the whole nation, love hearing about how much Painter's recruiting sucks. I bet these meltdowns earn us a lot of respect from other fans in the BIG. We have awesome fans.

By the way, did anyone ever consider that sometimes these 5 stars turn out to be just average college players or even busts. Dawson was a solid player but not a program changer. I would rather have about 4 guys on our team over him. And people are still talking about him as if he was a recruiting bust that put Painter's career in jeopardy. Painter has signed numerous guys since Dawson that will turn out to be more impact players. Nick Ward or Barrett Benson might end up being just as good as CS in the long run.

If Biggie had chosen PU he'd have to change his name from Biggie to something else as he'd not be Biggie on the Boilers.

I haven't had a chance to read the boards much lately, but I'm ok with Swanigan choosing another school. This is going to come across as sour grapes, but I said this before the decision was even made. There is something about Swanigan I'm just not comfortable with. I think mentally, he's Dawson 2.0. He cries about every call, and he doesn't appear to be a great teammate. I say appear, because it is just by the impression I get; nothing more. Physically, he's not a good athlete. He plays under the rim, and his outside shot is ugly. He won't be able to use his size in the B1G like he did in high school. I could be totally wrong. Everyone has him as a top-10 kid, so they must see something. I honestly don't see much upside to his game. It will be very interesting to see how it pans out. At Purdue, he was going to have the burden of the entire fan base on his shoulders because of his rating. I think many would have been disappointed with him here. I think he will be like Dawson at MSU. He won't be a game changer, but he'll be a multi-year player who will eventually go pro.
