This IU team had two nba lotteries and underachieved all year. Purdue had a 19 year old backcourt and overachieved. We weren’t supposed to be ranked or a 1 seed. We win the big and the big tournament when IU was supposed to. Yet you guys trash Purdue. I would be irate as an IU fan. I was more upset with Painter last year. I do agree Painter needs to figure some shit out. There is no excuse for this IU performance. Our backcourt is basically high school kids.

I’m sick of losing to double digit seeds three years in a row, including being only the second team in ncaa history to lose to a 16 seed.
I’m sick of being the laughing stock of college basketball.
I’m sick of nobody truly taking Purdue seriously as a national contender.
I’m sick of being the program that people are just waiting to see inevitably choke in the tournament.
I’m sick of the stubborn coach who craps his pants in the tournament more often than not.
I’m sick of the coach who acts like it’s just a matter of the players not executing, and seemingly refuses to look in the mirror and change the way he recruits and coaches.
That’s what I’m sick of.

Purdue fans are drama queens. I guess we are spoiled by getting in the tourney every damn year.
Maybe Izzo will retire soon. We could have Painter coach the team through February and then Izzo could just coach in March. Like give him a $500K or so for three weeks of work, how could he say no? lololol

Even as a 1 seed, people/the media scoffed and laughed at Purdue as a “fraudulent” 1 seed. And, guess what? They were right.
It’s sad.
Elite 8 solely because of Carsen. And still found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against UVA in the most Purdue fashion ever.
Might sneak into the first round. IU had a old team, not having Johnson did hurt them a bit, but even with him they were flawed.
There's some truth to this. We overachieved big time and got out over our skis. We did not have the talent, experience or coaching to counter the punches that come with the pedestal that we were placed on. A double edge sword that ended up costing national embarrassment.
It's the media's own faulty system that put Purdue in as a "fraudulent 1 seed." Too much weight in those early ranked wins. Then it got worse when those wins counted for even more once those teams played better as the year went on.
I'm not blaming the system for the way things went down this weekend, but it is what it is.
I like the positive thinking. To be even more positive the whole team should be back so it’s not like the cupboard is bear. These freshmen guards can get better. Colvin will add athleticism. Kaufman renn and furst will get better too. There’s much to look forward to if you wanna look at the glass half full.
My problem with looking forward is that, until we are playing in the title game, it won't feel any different than this year...or last.
IU had 2 big NIL players, but no 2 NBA Lottery players. You have to be picked in the top 12 picks or so to be NBA Lottery picks. That is not going to happen.
TJD is not a lottery pick, but will be picked before Edey. Scfino is borderline lottery or for sure first rounder.
If we had lost to Gonza and Duke, and had same Big Ten record, we would probably have been a 3 or 4 seed and lost 1st round and people would be more happy with our season. We were never a finished product with those young guards. They will be good, but not ready for prime time. We had a great year and look forward to the future.
Take it easy man it’s just a game. If it were so important why they gonna play the whole tournament again next year?
Nah. Making a sweet sixteen is a good tourney result.
I thought Chris Beard might cause us to choke last year but we were able to fight him off.
Then find a new team. A simple cure for your sickness.
