One of the main reasons I was excited when biggie committed is that this dude is a flat out winner. Correct me if im wrong, but Homestead was a school that hadn't won a regional, and Swanigan led them to a state championship. His guardian was quoted saying biggie "wants to bring a championship to Purdue." With Hammons and Davis in the final four or bust mindset, and others jumping on board, this could be a special season. Good teams have talent, but great teams have talent and a burning desire to win.

The guard and wing play HAS to be improved overall (better shooting, more disruptive w/steals, etc., a go-to-scorer in the backcourt would be nice as well) next season for it to be a truly special season, IMO. Along with that, hopefully Coach Painter will stay open-minded and throw some wrinkles into their offensive and defensive sets from time-to-time so that they don't become stale or predictable against good opponents.

Have to have some luck in the tourney for sure to make it to the final four. But you absolutely can put yourself in a better position during the season to make that path easier. I think we have the talent and if the OOC goes the way it looks like it can, his team could be very good going into January. If they can earn a good seed and get a break, even if only avoiding injury and a hot team with upset in their eyes, all bets are off when there are only 4 teams left.
I can't wait to see last years defense get even tougher and the shooters finding their stroke. It should be special.
