3.) be able to boast about your program’s proven winning culture."

Given Purdue's budget and class rank, it seems to be spending very wisely. I see a number of programs spending far more with lesser results.
Iowa State also appears to be very efficient with their money. Doing the math, they spend less than $1 per offered recruit.

Wisconsin would be the team I would model after....they spend nothing (comparative) for recruiting, and have a top 20 team almost every season.

Is that from before or after we upgraded the university motor pool from the fleet of Festivas ?

Wisconsin would be the team I would model after....they spend nothing (comparative) for recruiting, and have a top 20 team almost every season.

Would be Interesting to see if Wisconsin has a high percentage of in state kids on the roster. They have no other D1 schools in state so no "natural " competitors for those kids. Saves on recruiting travel/costs as well.

Ya I think they get a ton of their o-line along with other positions from instate but i could be mistaken.

Ya I think they get a ton of their o-line along with other positions from instate but i could be mistaken.

There is not an FCS or D2 program in state there so that limits scholarship possibilities for in state kids. Might also explain why UW-Whitewater is annually a D3 championship contender.

So these may be considered dumb questions, but please indulge me.

How specifically does UGA spend over $2MM more than us per year? My guess is they just have more staff dedicated to recruiting.

Are schools limited in how many people they pay to bring to campus?

What is considered “recruiting” spend?
- would the cost of a plane be considered “recruiting” even tho the team uses it throughout the year?
- how much of the football facility was considered “recruiting” budget?

We are 10th in the Big Ten in spending. I would like to see us around 7th. We are getting good results, but maybe we get better results if we increase spending $250 and improve our Big Ten ranking to 6th and our national rank to 23rd.

If you read the article it goes over the itemized expenses of a few programs.

The majority of expenses travel and food.

Georgia spends more by sending coaches/scouts out and bringing players to the university. They most likely run a massive camp in the summer. I know Alabama does this.

The cost of the air travel is only included if the trip is directly involved in recruiting.

Renovation and construction of football facilities is not included in the recruiting budget.

Wait so IU football spends more money on recruiting than Purdue does?

I guess that’s what you have to do when you are the losingest P5 team of all-time.
