Curious from those in the know how does the football team travel to Iowa--bus or fly?

What is the distance limit that determines when they fly vs. bus?

My son's and were talking and this came up so I was curious. Does the NCAA govern travel?

There used to be a mileage threshold, but I don't know if that's used anymore. I'm sure they're flying to Iowa City. I believe East Lansing was the furthest B1G campus we would drive to. I also don't know if that's different for different sports.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Create a mileage circle, inside the ring, we drive. Outside the ring, fly.

I could see the ring being around 4 hours.

Thanks Chi-Boiler.

in the future w/ the pac teams they could be beamed up like in Star Trek

On this topic, the road schedule for next year makes for some easy driving. Columbus, Champaign, Gloomington, Madison, East Lansing.

Oh and then Corvallis.

looking forward to a return trip to Eugene in 27, hoping I'll be able to.

The B1(8)G does have a travel circle. Inside 300 miles it is a drive. It got Iowa a lecture from HQ about flying to places like Illinois and NW to name a couple.
