I have watched a lot of football in my day. I have never seen a naked bootleg rollout left pass directly to a pass rusher in a play designed to put someone right in the QBs face one on one to a right handed throwing QB with fully covered receivers, of which primary receiver double covered. It exemplifies how there is virtually ZERO thought going into these play calls for one thing and almost no thought process instilled in the players minds either.
The first thing you look for in a coach the same thing you look for in hiring for any other job. Do you hire a lawyer that has no experience? Do you hire a random person to put a new kitchen in your house? That unfortunately seems to be the philosophy of Purdue's administrators because it is a common theme of this annually year after year of depreciation in performance and these play calls are more random than backyard street football games most kids play. And sadly most kids design these play calls better. It's time to put thought into this. Why can't we get a coaching staff that thinks. Why?
