Biggie doesn't want Purdue (not sexy enough or whatever reason)
Biggie's camp wants Purdue for all reasons mention previously
Biggie is convinced Michigan State isn't the best place for him and so he accepts decommiting and going to Purdue to appease his camp.
Biggie's camp wants to do this all in one move to keep the vultures off of him. Michigan State knows this and thinks "if we can't get him, we don't want to play him" so they realize by leaking it before he commits to Purdue other suitors will come calling....and now they have. Now either he is listening to other offers or they simply want to see who will come calling now...
