Houston

Ronnie Johnson leaves, and Purdue immediately goes from last place in the conference to 3rd place. Huh. Mere coincidence, I'm sure......

Turned on their game to watch Ronnie for alittle bit and there is about 5 people at the game.

It's too bad it didn't work out as I think he would have been a great asset. He would have thrived in this offense and could have been a leader along with RD. They've played some lousy teams, but he has put up good numbers. Ultimately, team chemistry is so tremendous now, we are fortunate to have the players that bought into the program.

Give me PJ any day. If RJ thrived on this team, it would be at the expense of others.
I can't stand watching a PG stand and dribble in one spot while looking only at the basket, hoping a lane will open up just enough to dribble up and release something. That's not Purdue basketball, and it was frustrating to watch.

When comparing their average shots and points per game for their most recent Purdue seasons, RJ took about 6 more shots per game. But out of those 6 extra shots, we only got about 3 more points. I'd rather have AJ, Haas, Davis, Edwards, Swanigan, etc. taking those 6 extra shots.

  • PJ 2015-16
    shots / game - 3.5
    ppg - 7.3

  • RJ 2013-14
    shots / game - 9.2
    ppg - 10.8

I think things turned out well for RJ and us. Seems like he's doing well down there, closer to the style he wanted, and I am happy with both of our PGs. I also hope to see Bryson shine in the Fort.

No reason to act like bitter beer faced iu fans. He moved on and we moved on. Live and let live.

It would be fun to draw Houston in an early tournament or the NCAAs while Johnson and Sampson are still there.
