How exactly does the hiring process work with coordinators? Is it strictly up to Hazell and how does that work with him out on the road recruiting this week?
Since we have gone the failed Bears coordinator route in the past, lets go for Marc Trestman who will probably be fired in Baltimore. Mike Martz is out of work. Ron Turner maybe if things go bad with FIU.How exactly does the hiring process work with coordinators? I wonder if Uncle Rico might be available for the offensive coordinator position:
Coach logs onto this board. Picks the top 2 posters of logical, reasoned comments.
Or maybe Johnny Rico ?I wonder if Uncle Rico might be available for the offensive coordinator position:
Hell, I'd do the job for $100,000. Nobody ever stopped my slant pattern to the '84 Topaz by the stop sign at N. Denwood and Oak in Dearborn, Michigan. At least I pass vertically in my offense!Coach logs onto this board. Picks the top 2 posters of logical, reasoned comments.
I've got some experience in this arena, here's how it will basically go down:How exactly does the hiring process work with coordinators? Is it strictly up to Hazell and how does that work with him out on the road recruiting this week?
Only Uncle Rico could throw the football a quarter of a mile.I wonder if Uncle Rico might be available for the offensive coordinator position:

I think Martz had criticism for being Shoopian... taking really simple concepts and explaining them in such a way that made NO sense. His early offenses were something else. I think he got too fancy. In some ways, I think Martz would be interesting. At one time he was a really good Offensive Coordinator in the NFL. The NFL has figured him out, but I wonder how he would do at the college level.
The obvious answer is they walk the three blocks to West Lafayette High School and hire the whole dang coaching staff. West Side is much better coached than Purdue, as evidenced by their trip to the state finals this year. If they are really serious, they can drive over the river to Central Catholic and hire their entire staff. CC wins state championships more frequently than Purdue wins games.
