Greetings Boiler fans hope all is well. I'm glad we are playing on BTN so it won't be aired for the whole world to see lol. I think you guys should win pretty comfortably (probably by 2 scores) Obviously I hope I'm wrong and hope we get the win at your place but I'm just not seeing it. To say our QB situation is bad is an understatement smh . I do like our running backs though (especially our freshmen Josh McCray who should be good to go)

Here's to a good game with no injuries!

Illinisully is the best and most gracious of all posters from opposing schools.

I do not have the power to confer such laurels, but he should be an honorary Knucklehead.
Ha thanks man! I think a lot of posters on these message boards should act like they do in real life (which is what I do. Treat others how you like to be treated has always been my motto) Plus I would be foolish as hell to try and act cocky or arrogant as an Illini fan/alum. We haven't been remotely good in football since that fluke year the Zooker took us to the Rose Bowl (where we probably had no business being in lol)
Plus I have friends that have went to Purdue and would party with them whenever I visited West Lafayette. Good times!

Wherever did you come up with that 'treat others like you like to be treated' bromide?

It certainly has no place in the btn (the media empire formerly known as the Big 10 Conf).

Thanks for posting.I always like hearing from fans of other schools like you who act like you have some brains.I would be more comfortable about Purdues chances tomorrow if they were at full strength. As a Purdue fan for 60 years,I can recall some games when I thought the Boilermakers would surely win,but the Illini upset us.Does your team really have 21 Super Seniors and 20 other Seniors? What if all 41 of them leave after this season? That will leave some huge gaps on your roster.Anyway, lets have a good game tomorrow and hope no one gets hurt.

Do you think he knows the most famous Sully holds a Purdue degree?

do you still have that dual threat QB that looked pretty good vs us last year? granted our D is night and day diferent.

The head-to-head series is tied, 45-45-6; I've been to too many UI-PU games where anticipated Purdue wins turned into terrible losses (by multiple scores). For what it's worth, the last time Purdue led the series was October 16, 1903, so we will see.

Speaking of seeing, I've been a Purdue fan for over 50 years and I've never seen the actual traveling trophy for this game, "The Purdue Cannon". Have you ever seen the real cannon? According to this article it's lost (which really says something if that's truly the case):

I say we put in an APB on the Purdue Cannon, would you kindly ask around Champaign-Urbana to see if anyone there knows anything?

my dad was an Illini so I have strong emotions for the cannon game. I do think Bielema will be strong for IL in the long run if he can keep certain things under control. Good luck tomorrow hopefully Purdue wins and there are no injuries.

Our "super" seniors aren't anywhere close to being super or even decent unfortunately. Bielema has his work cut out for him as far as recruiting goes. Its gonna definitely take some time that's for sure. I haven't checked in on recruiting for quite awhile but we definitely need a decent QB asap. lol

I don't think so. We have the 6th year senior Brandon Peters (transfer from Michigan) and the Rutgers' backup QB that transferred here.

He’s talking about spann.. now a wide receiver
ah gotcha. you know the Illini roster better than me apparently lol
Only hope the Illini have today is to get the freshmen RB McCray a lot of touches. All season long we've been subbing different running backs very frequently and imo the running backs can't get in rhythm doing that. So hopefully McCray gets a lot of touches and keeps Purdue's offense off the field.

That’s not your only hope. Purdue is weak on the OL.. you need to check the run with your four down linemen and either one backer or a couple defenders slightly shading. Sell out HARD covering Durham and Wright and dare Purdue to beat you running the ball against few defenders or passing to anthrop and the receiver opposite Wright.

on offense you need sitkowski to get in there .. hold the DL with McCray then use sirkowskis legs .. Purdue is weak in coverage middle of the second level

if you can do that, play well and Purdue plays B- football you’ll be in the game.

if you try to line up with peters and run McCray up the middle it will be a long day

Small world. I was teaching at Illinois at the time and had a couple of players from that team in my class. Both were great students and solid contributors on some of those early 2000s teams.
