The vote for 2020 looked easy to me … nominating Rondale to run for Purdue.
Very selfish, of course, on our parts. We fans personally stand to make boatloads of money with Rondale assuring himself of a first-round spot after building piles of Heisman votes. We’ll be laughing all the way to our piggy-skin banks.
But now the real campaign must begin.
It’s high time Purdue had a Heisman. We’ve only come close with a great bunch of runners-up, getting less votes than proven lesser people, like Griese losing to Spurrier -- who went unbeaten and won the Super Bowl and stands in Canton, while the other just bitched at players? -- Keyes losing to O.J. -- who’s sorry now? -- and Phipps losing to Steve Owens -- emphasis on the Oh.
Even Drew got screwed -- losing to the immortal Wee Chrissie Weinke.
Purdue deserves Moore than that. And Moore will deserve the big $coreboard.
