This is an interesting phenomenon…the black vote. If I dice up the demographics of race and sex, being black has little variance in voting. No other race is so dominant for one party…”every voting year”. You will find Hispanics and Asians more diverse in their vote. You will find male and female more diverse in their vote. What takes place for blacks to differ from other races in how they view legislation? How is unity of vote retained over so many years and so many platforms particularly in opposition to the party that specifically enhanced blacks’ status through legislation? The answer can’t be in academic understandings since they are right there with Hispanics in academic understandings which are more diverse than blacks in voting. You just shake your head in trying to figure out the uniformity in the voting process…
